they have a long way to go, wonder when they are going to get surplus military equipment so they can start confiscating those stupid diesel trucks that coal roll in heavy traffic.

also, video mocking the atf, that would never happen. they are a pillar of the law enforcement community that deserves the utmost respect. lol

it is only tuesday, are you sure this is the end of this rant for the week? lol

government control over anything is scary. but so is the idea that we can continue to pollute the atmosphere and not expect anything to happen. We know that exhaust (among other things) has an effect on the planet.

there is no easy answer to that. all the alternatives have negative effects too. that doesn't mean we shouldn't try - ie government regulations on emissions does matter and when applied properly make a difference. I do not know what that looks like in the real world.
Oh, I'm sure there will be more before the week is out.

Your last paragraph says it all. We have no answer on how to fix it. Is our emissions really causing it? If so after multiple centuries, we are probably so far down the road, nothing we can do will stop it. Or, is this some naturally occurring cycle that we have nothing to do with, or any control over. That is a discussion for another venue. Regulating the problem out of existence is not the way without alternative options which we do not have.

yes, a different venue, with more beer and soft pretzels with beer cheese. . . .

but the cheese won't be any of that government subsidized Wisconsin cheese ;-)

The average push mower pollutes more than a modern car.

The US government crisscrosses this country's atmosphere every day releasing countless pollutants tons of dangerous pollutants (I am not talking about jet engine exhaust). They've (the US Government) been doing it for over 50 years now.

CO2 is the least of our worries.

If CO2 were so very dangerous as a green house gas, and the US government was so concerned about temperature increases, why did they blow up a natural gas pipeline that released enough methane gas in a single day, to wipe out all the collective savings of CO2 gains by the entire western world for the last 35 years?

China and India are exempt from air quality standards. China is bringing 2 coal fired plants online each week according to NPR.

Facts tell the story far better than political diatribes.

Believe what you want.

It won't change reality.

I think the government should start worrying about the largest polluters in the world, that would he the government(s), lol. I'm not saying nothing should be done we have the cleanest ICE in the history of the planet. Also, hydrogen power seems to he a pretty good option. Toyota had one at a car show I went to years ago.

I agree the government should lead the way.

More nuclear powered carriers.

In some states they are banning small engine sales. Or adding additional restrictions to the sale of them. I think Colorado or maybe just one county idk for sure, is banning the use of small engines by government employees for lawn maintenance.

I'm not a fan of states or the feds mandating companies have certain mpg's or certain "features" on their vehicles everywhere to be sold in their state (I'm looking at you California). But if the government doesn't mandate these changes no one would ever make the change.

This forum is a great example of society. There are those who understand the problem is complex and isn't just switch to batteries, or keep all ICE vehicles on the road. There are those that bury their heads in the sand and claim it's not their problem because some other country isn't doing the right thing. And there are all sorts in between.

Something needs to change or we are only going to destroy this planet at a rate that I don't know if my kids kids kids will be able to live here. Will it be an ice age, will it be to hot for crops, or will it be like wall-E where everyone is shipped off earth to space ships.

Our NY AG is now going after the beef industry. Apparently cow farts will accelerate global warming so they need to be taxed and farmers put out of business. It's all a targeted money grab at this point controlling the agenda.

Gotta jump in on this, I rarely engage in political discussions with anyone, friends, family, fellow ranger owners. I take the longer view in that the human race is on a path of self destruction, only a matter of time , but eventually it will happen.
