One reason I bought the SCAB, 6ft bed. If I would have young kids, I would have bought a SCREW.

I like the idea for a once a yr thing.
Another reason Ford should just offer the Ranger in a SuperCrew/Longbed configuration!!! Best of both worlds.

BTW, Sweet mountain bike, Wazza1726!!! I’m an avid MTBer too. ??

I was thinking more along this line. Way more capacity and locks into place pretty much. You could add more lock cutouts for angle adjustment for wheel well height

did not know those even existed ...

Are those permanent mount on the tailgate ? And just hook to bed when needed? I don't see a hinge ...

...

Same goes with plywood. I generally carry mine with the tailgate fully up....but not over doing it like this guy...I've done 5 sheets and a bunch of 2x4's.

What do you want to bet that the tailgate looked fine when he loaded it, but one pothole later and this was the result ?

Sad thing is he may not even realize it until he stops.

Looks like he had at least 35 sheets there.

Now he's going to have a devil of a time pulling out the built in step ?

If the cables are the weak point , I would think a heavier cable , multiple eyelets or hook points , might be more "convient " but not as strong , probably strong enough for most though... I , at some point in the near future , will be getting some drywall and such , that angle for the wheel wells is looking pretty good... Somebody on here made a "rack " that let you stack it , that was good too... I THINK 18 blue , so maybe 18 plain? .... Trailer would have been pretty handy there...

I obviously misunderstood the title of this thread. Didn't remember Mav driving a truck. Although the F14 isn't far from it?

I wonder if the F150 version would work on the ranger.

When I first got my Ranger I contacted them - needed piece of mind with my quad riding on the tailgate....they said no plans to make them for the Ranger.

Hopefully they have changed their mind.

I was thinking of making some up. Not all that hard to do really

Factory damper was supposed to go there ..
Can't see any way a Damper would work from that position. All Dampers on New trucks are internal and not like the version we have had to install as an option.

I was thinking about doing the same but using the existing threaded holes and a shoulder bolt.
but as has been pointed out had load concerns. I dont think I have ever bought more than 2-3 sheets of plywood at a time, so maybe....

Well that's convenient! I put a thru-axle mount in mine and I still have to deflate the rear tire to clear the tailgate if I want the bike to sit straight. It just sits crooked for short drives to the trails.
