My 2019 Ranger Sync system is not working. I was having problems connecting Bluetooth and had done a master reset. But the screen went black. At first I could turn up the volume on the radio (it was all static because it reset to AM radio). Then that quit working too. The backup camera works, the USB ports work for charging, the manual climate controls work, but they do not appear on the screen. The beeping for the parking sensors work, but the little truck indicator does not come on the screen. There is no Bluetooth for my phone, no radio, no system at all.

I've done the soft reset many times. The Ford logo comes on and goes off like it's starting up, but it doesn't load. It also starts up like that when I start the truck, but when the logo goes off, no sync.

I fixed what I thought would be a $1500 problem with a $1.40 fuse from reading this forum, so I'm hoping someone can give me some direction.

Thank you!

Do you know what version Sync you have?

Does the screen go completely dark except for when the backup camera is on? Either way, I would remove the fuses for Sync or disconnect the battery for a short time to let the hardware reset. If you do disconnect the battery be sure to check the owner manual for things to take care of when changing the 12v battery.

I replaced the battery last week, so it was unhooked for at least 10 minutes, sync didn't come back. Yesterday I pulled the fuse and even swapped it with another 10 amp, no difference. The screen is working because when I'm in a dark spot (like a tunnel) the screen is blue but looks black in daylight. I'm leaning more toward the sync system is fried. But would those other things work if sync was fried?

This ended up being the update needed. I downloaded the update to a USB, plugged it in and it uploaded. However the Sync didn't come back on, so I did a soft reset. No luck. So I pulled the fuse and when I started the truck it came on. It took it a while for all features to load and work.

I wonder if I experienced something similar to this, this morning. Ford logo splash screen was not going away after starting the truck. After waiting 10 or 15 seconds I left to take my daughter to school. After backing out of the driveway, the rear camera stayed on, in Drive...
After a block or so the camera shut off and the screen went blank. I could change the temp control but not the radio station etc. Gauge cluster still worked and was interactive. Shut the truck off at school and nothing, black screen and now no backup camera. Pulled over in the same neighborhood and still nothing.
Drove to work and the screen was black the whole way. After parking at work and shifting to park, the rear camera started working again. Shut off and turned the key to the on position and still a black screen. Figured I'd try to pull negative battery cable, popped the hood to see approximately what size I'd need. I would have to go into work and grab the ratchet from the lab.
Pulled up the forum and saw a thread about a soft reset, I went out to try that instead and when I turned the key suddenly the SOB decided it was time to start working again....

I've been wondering if I have a battery going bad. A few weeks ago the truck would reset the rear occupancy alarm to on every time I drove it and it would pop up the location/tracking message. It was acting like some settings were being saved or lost while the truck was off. If the battery is going bad, it needs to hurry up; it's just turned 2 years, but the mileage is at 31k and change.
