Just an update on my personal situation: ordered on 4/23. Got confirmation email on 4/23. Got the "we're sorry it's taking so long" email on 7/1. Got a production date email of 9/12 on 7/23. Got a production pushed to 9/19 email on 9/6. The wait is driving me crazy but at least there's movement and somewhat communication. The dealer told me upfront that it would be a solid six months so that would be around 10/23. This seems to align with what's going on so far. Fingers crossed.

Just got my window sticker online, says it going to be built the week of 9/12, ordered 2/10,Vin 3/10, suppose to be built the week of 8/15, weekly push to next week for builds date. It will be a little over 7 months, if it gets built.

Here's a good one, got yet another delay notice from Ford yesterday say "we understand your frustration, BUT.....
This would be the 4th production delay from it's original built date the week of August 5th.
I was pretty bummed out with the "we will keep you updated every 45 days. ?
Then first thing this morning I get a notice from Ford saying my truck is awaiting shipment. So called the dealer and he pulls the order bandaid it's on a rail car headed to Washington state!
Now I'm happy. ?
Should be here between September 30th to October 5th.
The end is in sight!

Funny how that worked.
Doctor says we're sorry but you're going to die tomorrow. Then tomorrow he says, hey, you are healthy and can expect to live a long fulfilling life.
Well, maybe not of an extreme example. :)

I think it would be interesting to see the length of time from order to build for the different trim levels (XL, XLT, Lariat). I'm wondering if part of the issue is that due to parts shortages, some trim levels are delayed.

Well, went to pick up my new Ranger today. Only to have to fight with the dealer about price protection on the deal from February, producing the signed DORA to prove it, and producing the $1000 retail rebate offer. Then he told me that if I wasn't going to trade something , he would need to mark it up, $1,500.00. SO I let him look at my trade, and he low-balled it $7500 minimum under Kelly Blue Book. Said he called a few other Jeep dealers to see what they thought about my trade-in, and told me they were slow moving and sitting on the lot still. So I called the Jeep dealers and they said they had none on the lot and that the longest they ever sat on the lot was 2 weeks. I told him that this was not the same truck I ordered (Lariat 501a, and the LED headlights were deleted), so I just wanted a refund of my deposit, to which he said that deposits were non-refundable.

So my 'we will do what we need to do to keep the customer happy and make the deal right' was a wolf in Sheep's clothing.

So I left without it. Truing to find a regional sales rep to get involved, but Ford Corporate says I need to call a different dealer, they do not have a way to find that information.

Intersting, when I was in the parking lot, I got an email from Ford saying it was time to move my Lightning reservation along, and it could be converted to an order...

I got to be honest here. The guy you spoke with needs his ass kicked up and down the street until it's bloody. And then kicked again. These shit bags need to learn and they're going to learn the hard way. If my dealer tries that shit I am going to destroy them.

Here's Ford's rules on price protection. As long as the truck is sold to the person who ordered it the original price remains intact. Any dealer who tells you different is lying and they know they are lying because they've read Ford's rules.
I encourage everyone here to download this photo and keep it handy in your phone for when your dealer tries to play games.

Here's Ford's rules on price protection. As long as the truck is sold to the person who ordered it the original price remains intact. Any dealer who tells you different is lying and they know they are lying because they've read Ford's rules.

To add to what I said earlier, part of this is your fault and technically it's partially my fault because I didn't warn you about this. When you go to trade a car in on a dealer ordered vehicle they think they have you at their Mercy. In this case every time try to sell your car in advance to CarMax or whoever. To take a trade in to a dealer when picking up an ordered vehicle is just inviting problems.
