Want to remove them, and I know they won't come straight out.
I read somewhere on the forum that if you simply back out the bolt in the safety hole notch the seat will rotate far enough forward to remove them.
True ? Or do I need to just pull the entire seat back off ?

I removed mine by pulling them all the way up and pulling them forward and up with a little bit of force. The padding on top of the headrest will squish down just enough to clear.

I second this. A bit of force and wiggling the headrest forward and up as you tug gives more slack to move out.

I loosened the fastener on mine to allow the seat back to move forward enough so that I could use the same method as above.

Edit: my build date was 11/2020 and I have the headrests that fold. Sounds like sometime in December is when they removed the feature and they went solid non moving

Mine don't fold...March 2021 build.
Tried loosening bolt...no go. Rest comes up[ an extra 1/2 inch but seems like there's still some post left.
Not going to force it anymore...not imperative that I remove now. Will be removing seats later to make a riser for our two terriers and their seats.
Thanks' anyway's.

So jealous of your folding headrests. I don't want to remove mine as I occasionally take passengers but they do get in the way

Put out a feeler on here. Many that have folding removed them anyways. Might get lucky and scoop up a pair gathering dust in someone’s garage!

I have the same problem with mine. They will not come out. There is a button on only one side of the top of the seat that supposedly releases the headrest but that doesn't work either. It's kind of frustrating as the dealer couldn't even get them out. Honestly they didn't really even try. ?

Theres a button to push on both posts, one stands out the other is hardly noticeable. backed out bolt about an inch or so, push both buttons while pulling up and toward you and they should come out. Took mine out yesterday.

You have to pull the headrest toward you hard as you also pull up. Takes a lot of effort but it can be done.
