Do what others here said, followed up with a heavy dose of “Don’t do That Again” (available in any country) and you should be good!

Unfortunately, it looks like they'll only ship in the US. I can find 303 cleaners and graphene products here in Ontario, but no luck in finding the polish products.
Try carzilla.ca out of Calgary - they might have it. Maybe give them a call if you don’t see it on their site. 1-877-805-9198.

I buy my 303 and Aero Cosmetics products from them.

Thanks, I'll look into them.

Don't use your finger pads. Use the edge of a finger nail. It will lightly drag on any slight scratches whereas a pad might not notice it. Use the least aggressive polish you can. Even some waxes labeled as "cleaning wax" have grit in them to buff out slight scratches. To test fro grit, put a small amount on your thumbnail. Rub your other thumbnail on it and you will feel if it has any grit.
I tried with the finger nail, and you're right, I feel the ridges. RE: the cleaning wax, do I want grit for this instance, or will that make it worse?

You need a small amount of abrasiveness to smooth out the scratches. A polishing or cleaning wax is milder than a polishing compound and should be plenty in this case.

Always start with the least abrasive compounds and lightest pressure and slowly increase if you don't see improvements. Too much grit or pressure can induce their own scratches.

Nu Finish is my go to.
Clean the area well. Put the polish on a microfibre towel and pat it onto the area. Let it dry and wipe it off. See what blemish is remaining that may need another application and some rubbing this time.

Update on this: I wasn't able to find a solution for bed rails that worked with my tonneau cover, so my wife made these felt sleeves for the straps to protect the truck. We did the trip down, and half of the trip back, and they seem to be working perfectly! A nice, inexpensive little solution to this problem.

That's a good bandaid...

What are you carrying on the cover? Maybe instead of rails you should consider replacing the cover with a hard cover, like diamondback....

Any dirt and grit that gets under those straps (and felt sleeves) will grind the clear away, until it gets to bare metal...

It's skis, and it only happens a couple of times a year when I do long trips to visit family and friends and have luggage in the bed. For short little day-trips to more local slopes, the skis are in the bed. I'm still looking for a more permanent solution, but as you said, this is a nice band-aid for now.

The tonneau cover's not an issue if the load is spread to the rails.

Like this:

Damn, he's still got some serious rake, even loaded up like that; an obvious design flaw. Getting to the tailgate when the bed is empty must look like this:
