While I don't have them personally, I've read a lot of recommendations for these rock sliders-> Shrocks Rocks sliders. Unlike some other "rock sliders", these actually bolt to the frame of your truck.

I have no input on a bull bar for these trucks. Had a nice westin black/brushed steel on my 2011 tacoma years ago, but that's the extent of my bull bar knowledge. It was solid until it took the brunt end of a small fender bender...

It actually ended up saving my front bumper from needing replacement.?

Good luck!

If are more interested in sliders, Shrock is the ticket...lights are custom...

I have the Shrockworks sliders and they are indeed heavy duty and bolt to the frame.

I've lifted the side of my truck with them to do tire rotations.

That said, they are a bit narrow to function as steps to aid entry.

They can work for that, but regular entry steps would be better.

Here's the best pic I have of them.

Sliders are a bit too high to be used as steps, and if they were any lower they'd get caught all the time.
I got Tyger Auto tube steps from Amazon, they were $180. Maybe not as good looking as some, but they are half the price of the nicest steps/sliders.
They should offer some protection to the bottom of the door and cab.
They bolt to the frame, as do most of the sliders. Where else are you going to attach sliders besides the holes in the frame ?

I have the Rocky Road Outfitters super sliders with the kickout in the rear. They bolt to the directly to the frame. While not as popular on this forum, they are well known in the Jeep community.

I have the exact same sliders and they are awesome. They have a lifetime warrantee against bending and enough step to help get in and out the truck. The kickout is good for the dog getting in and out as well as reaching roof top and back of bed. They mount via 4 very sturdy bolts on the frame each side that require drilling but I think other than custom but I doubt there are stronger sliders on the market. They weigh nearly 60lbs per a side. The only negative is they take up to 6 months to build and ship. They were worth the wait and shipping was pretty reasonable compared to others I shopped.

I have ADD (Addictive Desert Design) rock sliders. All through they bolt directly to the body(cab) not the frame. They are extremely tough I don’t baby my ranger and these have saved my rocker panels a few times. They aren’t light or cheap think they weigh like 150-180 and I paid 1600 before inflation kicked in who knows how much now. But I would recommend even though they don’t bolt directly to frame. I do think you have to drill a hole into frame to install shockworks that’s why I went with ADD also I think all steps bolt to cab not frame. There’s only a few that bolt to frame and require modifications to frame for most.

Shrockworks for sliders.

Bumper: ARB is the only company out there performing actual crash tests on bumpers. That means your air bags and crumple zones will work exactly as intended in a life threatening crash. They're also the best animal deflectors out there. I wacked a 200+ lbs red kangaroo with one at 85mph a few years ago. Zero damage. Everything else is just some welded steel plates and hoops.

You'll want to do suspension at the same time. OME BP-51 is the highest quality option, delivering the smoothest ride, with the longest service intervals. Front coilovers come set up for weight of bumper and winch.

More on all that here: https://www.outsideonline.com/outdoor-gear/cars-trucks/build-overland-vehicle-like-australian/

So the ADD ones mount to the cab (sheet metal ) ? That doesn't sound like a very secure mounting.
All the holes are already in the frame, no drilling required for most of these.

My cheapies are more of a tube step than a true rock slider, but anything bolted to the frame is going to protect your cab.

Those Rocky Road Outfitters sliders have a nice clean look.

There are tons of options for steps/sliders and lightbars/bullbars.

Do your own homework.

Doug, you know this is a forum where people can discuss things and bounce ideas off each other, right?

For sure.

But it's extremely lazy to post a thread like this.

The options are literally a search away.

"Hey guys, how should I modify my truck?"

We don't know anything about what the dude wants, needs, or desires. Just that his wife ok'd him to spend some money on his truck.

Are we to list every option available for him? Why? Sounds like somebody just wants us to paint his fence for him.

These types of threads are some of the worst types on automotive forums.

There was no "bouncing" of ideas here. Just a "hey, gimme the ball."
