I agree and would bet the new MOD top manufacturer would most likely be the one until the aftermarket companies catch up. Right now they can't fire Webasto since they're the only company set up to produce them right now. Defects and all it's better to have something going out than nothing. From what I've read Webasto is responsible for all warranty work with these defects.

Personally I do not like the soft top at all and would rather take a defective hard top and wait it out. There is no soft top as of yet for the 2dr so this puts me in another bind. Supposedly they're "working on it" trying to fix the MOD tops but if they do produce the 2dr in '22 with only a soft top I will most likely cancel my order.
By the way, I got to test drive a 2 door wildtrak with the top off. The MIC top was laying on the floor of the dealer so I got to inspect it up close. It seriously looks like the panel edges were cut with a jigsaw. They are not perfectly straight like a typical panel should be, and they were fairly sharp because of the unfinished edge. If I were to run my hand across it I would have probably cut my hand.

Yep! All these things are precisely why I now drive something I had never considered before - love this truck and am more impressed the more drive it! Dealers aren't sharing what they know about all these problems, probably under penalty of - death - you know, frighten the citizens thing; but mine did highly encourage me to not wait... not that they outright say anything, but do hedge around the issues and delivery dates not being any kind of solid. I've known these folks for 20 some years so they do share some of their "disgust" about it all, and are one of the dealers that does not do "mark up" due to failures of Ford. I haven't cancelled mine so could sell it myself when it does eventually show up... I'm PO'd and really don't want it anymore.

No dealers in my area have a demo yet. I did see the edges of the tops posted on B6G, it looks like something they cut with a pair of dull scissors.

Have you seen the newest defect? This is what's happening after a week or two from delivery. Looks like Honeycomb cereal.

Nice edges!o_O

When I reserved mine I never wanted a '21 to begin with. I've been burned before with first year builds so I was good waiting until '22. Even when it was time to convert to an order I told my dealer to code 99 it which means hold reservation until next year.

Seeing these issues I'm glad I did and now several have had what looks to be software issues. Some have had theirs stuck in GOAT mode and cant get back to 2wd without having to shut the vehicle off, wait a few minutes and restart it. One just the other day had several codes appear while driving then it just died on the highway. I'm starting to lose interest too but still hoping they can fix this mess by next year.

So I decided to put in an order for a Bronco, and being that the price tag is pretty high I knew I would have to trade in one of my vehicles, and thought for sure I was going to be forced to trade in my Ranger, which I really didn't want to do. But, my wife decided that she would rather trade in her Santa Fe and take the Ranger! Super excited that we get to keep the Ranger and I will get my off-roading, Sasquatching beast of a Bronco!

Although I have no idea when I will actually get said Bronco, but still... super excited!
What a woman John, she's a keeper. Like my brother from another Mother, Dave @AzScorpion, I opted to wait, and put in my reservation on 10/04/20. I really didn't want mine to arrive until '22. But, the way things are going it doesn't seem it would have mattered as mine is filled with deadly sins, MIC top, 2.7L, and the LUX package. With the flu, supplier issues, and Ford's own mis-steps there's a lot of first day, and early reservations that are waiting right along with us late bloomers. I'm at the point now that I just hope I can get mine by next year. I'm just waiting now to see if another screw up arises. If it does, and pushes me to '23 I may just cancel myself. Only time will tell. Good luck with your order. You seem to have educated yourself on how to order a Bronco, and you could very well get one before I even get a sniff at a build date.

Well, I got my fix i mean.
Got to see it, touch it, drool a little.
The dealerships owner drives this one. It is for sale.
He says he literally can't go anywhere and not be stopped by gawkers, lookers, dreamers and tire kickers.
It looks really nice in person.
Ah, you got me.

Sorry no! She does have a reason why she wants the Ranger instead of her Santa Fe. She is a plant enthusiast, and on more than one occasion I've had large plants (trees essentially) loaded in the back of the pickup to bring home. Can't do that in a Hyundai, lol.

The Area51 is the only other color I was looking at other than the Oxford White. I saw a Bronco Sport in that color and it looked great!

As silly as this may sound this was another reason I wouldn't want one right now. I do not want to have to worry that every time I go somewhere there will be people touching it and putting their hands all over it while I'm inside a store. I can see people leaning over it and scratching it or driving up close along side it trying to take pictures. I'll wait for the hoopla to wear off and I'm sure there will still be some looking but not as much as now when they're so rare.

I was lucky that back in December 2020 we got to see these at our local dealer. They were there for one day before going to the off road show in Scottsdale. We were able to climb all around them and open the hood and take measurements.

Now for some really bad news. The one who had his Bronco die on the highway from being in the sand dunes...The engine seized! He's updating the OP so no need to read through every page.

My excitement level for this Bronco has dwindled down from a 10 to a 2 now.

Update 7/28
Spoke with the dealer, current indication is that the engine actually seized up. I'm not exactly sure how that relates to the ABS/AdvanceTrac/Trailer Brake system warnings, but I guess that does explain why the engine would not turn over. Being a brand new vehicle, dealer opened a hotline with Ford Engineering to investigate further, understand exactly what happened, and propose next steps. Should hopefully know more in the next few days.

I haven't been impressed with the new Bronco. Until, I visited the local Ford dealership yesterday for a part. The one and only one in the showroom was awesome. When they're allowed to sell it, it will have a dealer mark-up of 16k. Supply and demand dude, supply and demand.
The same dealership sells f150s with bolt on upgrades for 98k.
That's a dealer I'd avoid.

Some dealers were doing to this with Kia Tellurides in recent history. I'll see if I can find the article or post on another forum where basically Kia Corporate told them to cut that shit out. I think in this case the dealer was tacking on a lot more than $16,000 (which is still dumb as shit).

Its bad for business long term and extremely short-sighted on the dealers part.

Exotic limited production vehicles are one thing, this is something else.

Not to worry brother. Chit happens. We take that chance every time we buy a new vehicle. The engines going into the Bronco have both been around for a long time, and have proven their reliability. But, of course we know there is no promises.

BTW, it's gonna take so long for us to get our Broncos I'll bet the hoopla will have died down, and we won't have to worry about those touchy, feelie people. :)
