Silly Funnel Question

Don’t make the mistake of using a gas can to fill up without the funnel. Many of the spout tips have a lip and will get caught up on those little doors and then you may not be able to remove the gas can. That little funnel is critical equipment.

I traded in a car and kept the funnel so I can have an extra.

Also on this... for what it is worth, I asked the dealer if this gas fill could be converted to a standard type of gas cap and the answer is a strong NO. Won't work.

I wish that when your doors are locked the fuel door would also be locked. Nothing stopping thieving folks from obtaining an funnel and start stealing fuel. Also, there are types that might first jam a hose down there to drain your tank and then you're stuck for the repairs for the damages that could result.

So, you insert the loooong shaft of the funnel into the fuel filler orifice.
I take it that it's self lubricating, and once you pull the funnel out, it will not "drip" ...

As long as you don't pull out prematurely.

As mentioned elsewhere on this forum, stealing gas is now done by punching a hole in the polyethylene gas tank rather than fighting anti-siphon fillers.

Also need it if putting in dry gas or anything like that. I learned the hard way, bought dry gas and basically poured it on to the ground from the overflow
