Their bites are like little needle sticks. Their mouths can't open very wide. Pretty harlmess. I tried relocating a 5 foot black snake once and didn't grab it right. It bit me a couple of times on the hand. Some antiseptic took care of it. Still better than killing it on the porch steps.

My last house we had garters, copperheads, and a really big rat snake. I watched it swallow a baby wild duck in our baack yard. That thing was fast and big. The copperheads were very aggressive.

My peach trees are blooming. Last year, we had a late freeze that killed half the flowers. Hope not to do that again. When the peaches are blooming, it's spring.

We look similar today. Everything has a 3/8 inch coat of ice on it that's now covered with a little snow. Talk about slippery, my dog can barely stand in the driveway.

I find them in the yard and put them In my garden area. I love garter snakes. They will bite you if you agitate them though.

I spoke too soon. First plowable storm of the season ( 5 inches over an inch of sleet and ice ) and more on the way. Finally got to play in the snow .

Still have 1/4"of ice on the trees from a ice storm a couple days ago. Got about 2 inches of snow today.

That ice storm was nasty. My poor dog couldn't stand up in the driveway. Had to use a hammer to open the mailbox.
