Hello all, I had my Leer cap installed on my 2021 Ranger last month. Today while out and about, it started raining. When I got home I checked inside the bed as I had just installed rear seals to keep dust from coming in like you all mentioned on this forum after installing a cap. I found that the rain had come into the bed from the front of the bed. When I took a close look I noticed that the seal between the cap and the bed may be too far back. It was not compressed at all and the water was leaking between the seal and the bed. Then on closer inspection the cap seems to be installed too far back on the shell. I was hoping someone could take a pic of the front and rear ends of their shell to give me an idea on how it should be sitting. I have attached two photos for comparison. Thank you in advance.

take it back to where you bought it & have them check the fitment.
does not look right to me & should not leak.

A full on side view of the cap on the truck would be helpful. But from what I see, something doesn't look right. Does the Leer website show any of the same model caps on a 2019-2021 Ford Ranger?

I have the exact same shell, no leaks. Very simple the shell is mounted too far back. We have had monsoons in the desert so the truck is dirty, apologize for that, but again no leaks.

Thank you that's what I thought it would look like if properly installed. If you don't mind I will use your photos for comparison when I go Dien to the installer this week. Most appreciated.

You bet !! The other thought I had was the clamps are loose and the shell actually slid back. In my old Leer shell that I had on my Nissan Titan for 13 years the bolts were placed in holes drilled through the rails to prevent sliding, this generation of shells uses clamps as in the photo. Ignore the dust in my photo, I drive back and forth from AZ to CA every couple of months with surfboards sticking out the back of the shell, tailgate up, naturally some dust gets inside, I also haul stuff back there and use a truck like a truck.
