Just checking in on my favorite thread, even though I no longer own a Ranger. I traded the Ranger for a Jeep Gladiator which was okay except for the anemic power, so now I own a 2020 Ram Warlock 5.7 Quadcab with a 6ft bed. Spent about 6k on wheels, 33" tires, bedliner, boards, tint, de-badging and a nice exhaust. Pretty happy with the result.

Also moved to Omaha and bought a house, which I have mixed feelings about.

The important question is, does bro TDF017 have enough lights on his Roush Ranger yet?!

I'm down to my last 6 lights.
Dual Fogs and new LED Headlights.
I probably won't mess with it until February or March (time & money).

Nice wheels.

What better way to spend money than "on your truck," I 100% Agree!

So,,, after 2 hours of messing with Forscan I was able to enable Bambi Mode and disable almost all of the chimes.

I still cannot find the setting to turn off the chimes when you insert the key and start the engine.

And, there is no ACM Module in my Forscan software. Any idea why some user have that option and mine doesn't ? I'm not sure if there's fake engine noise being pumped through my speakers or not,,, but I sure as hell don't want any.

Status Update:

I was slightly terrified when I installed my Linkswell in my driveway. It's been a while since I've owned a Ranger and a lot has changed. The last time I worked on upgrading a Ranger, they were held together by nuts & bolts, screws, and welds. Now,,, trucks are made with glue and plastic pieces snapped together... with breakable tabs. Just like the models I used to build when I was a kid. Despite that, I managed a really clean install on a part that I absolutely love.

My next mod has me on the edge of my seat waiting for an Amazon delivery. I'm praying it contains the "Holy Grail" for this install. I'm removing the factory Automatic Dimming Rearview Mirror and replacing it with the Wolfox g900 Tri-Pro Bumper Version.

I tested everything earlier using the cigarette lighter power adapter. All the cameras work perfectly and I input all my settings. I got it connected to my phone's Wolfbox App AND the Wolfbox App on my Linkswell. I will be able to watch my Wolfbox cameras on the Mirror AND on my Phone App, or on the Linkswell, at the same time.

Plan:

1. Remove the trim around factory mirror.
2. Remove the factory mirror from the Hex Nut Mount on the Window Plate.
3. Install the Mirror Adapter Plate over the Hex Nut Mount and tighten the Set Screw to lock it in place.
4. Slide the Wolfbox Universal OEM Mirror Mount over the Hex Nut Mirror Adapter Plate and tighten the set screw to secure the base of the mirror arm to the Adapter Plate.
5. Mount Exterior Cameras and securely hide all wiring. Wire in the Reverse Camera Harness.
6. Attach Power Supply, Cameras, and GPS Module to the Wolfbox.
7. Reattach all factory trim pieces around the mirror.
8. Fire up the truck and test how it functions / troubleshoot.
9. Head to the off-road park and see what breaks while filming myself doing stupid shit.

I need to get this done ASAP because shoulder reconstruction is coming before Christmas. After that,,, I'll be a laid up gimp in an arm sling till March. I need to get as much stuff off my Parts Pile as I can before I get hacked apart.

Installation Update:

I'm taking a SDF break (Shoreline Mafia - Hollywood) at the midway point of this install.

It's not that bad so far except for the ass whoopin' I took at the hands of a tiny set screw on the mirror adapter. That thing seriously kicked my ass. I would rather have an abrasive glass rod shoved up my urethra than ever attempt to install another one of those set screws.

Right now,,, I have the new Wolfbox G900 Tri-Pro mounted and it looks great. I'm a little bummed by how much of the front camera is obstructed by the factory trim pieces. It eats up about 20% of the FOV. I doubt that will be an issue because I will be using the rear camera as my primary screen. The obstructed front view will only become an issue when I'm trying to film Offroad activities or in the case of a traffic accident.

I also ordered a set of low profile 90⁰ USB-C connectors in case there were any clearance issues...

I also re-did the hardwiring for my Cobra dash cam so it runs off the OBDii port now. I'm keeping the Cobra because it has an Infrared Interior Camera.

My next step is to mount cameras & GPS and run the wires from the cameras to the unit. Then,,, button it all up and test it.

Install Update #2:

F 🖕 that License Plate Bracket !!!

Long story short... I had to relocate my license plate as low as it could go for clearance under the tailgate.

Now,,, I'm stuck doing research trying to figure out the best way to route the wires from the rear camera to inside the cab of the truck.

I also need to figure out the correct way to wire in the "reverse function" wire.

I should have started earlier...
🤦‍♂️
