So much I want to do to my truck I just don't have the energy atm. Tune is for sure on the list. My gas mileage isn't great already. How much difference is the tune vs just driving in 'sport'?
It’s not the same… sport is nice but when you drop the tune in… drive mode slaps sport in the face and gives it a look of disappointment… the tune in sport.. well that’s just fun…
Also… might be best to not worry about fuel economy ?…..

I took a round trip from Austin, TX to Daytona Beach, FL to Mission, TX about 10 minutes after they screwed on the temporary tag at the dealership. A 2600 mile road trip is a nice way to get a feel for your new truck. At that time, it was just a Roush factory built post-title vehicle with no performance mods. The truck ran great. It was all highway miles and I averaged around 26 mpg. I was happy with the performance of the stock vehicle. But it felt "restricted" by the factory. So I started throwing parts at it. ALL of them. In order to free it up and allow it to breath and fart the way God intended. I then bought a basic SCT BDX tuner. It changed everything. The truck ran like a beast. But I kept hearing about how shitty my tune was compared to several others soooo,,, I got butt hurt and ordered a different custom tune by Revolution Automotive. Massive difference. Revolution gave me the power and torque the the SCT tuner couldn't.

I did my last 0-60 pull with the SCT tune just after midnight on Christmas '24. I went right back to my garage and loaded the Revolution tune. I was instructed to stay off the throttle for a @ 100 miles to allow the transmission to learn what to do.

I did my 1st pull with the Revolution tune about 9 hours later. Shaved 0.9 seconds off my 0-60. *see pic. I switcedh to a different Acceleration Meter and ran another 0-60 to back it up. *see pic.

I took it for a drive after reinstalling the Revolution tune earlier this evening. I'm driving gentle, but in Sport Mode while the transmission does it's learning thing. I've only got about 15 miles on the new tune. And, of course some jerkoff tried to run up my ass. So I gave the peddle a gentle squeeze and went from 20 mph to 60 mph before I could finish my sneeze. The jerkoff got tiny in my mirror real fast. That was 1 second at ½ throttle.

I'll baby it for another day or 2 and then see how the mileage looks when I start driving like "me" again.

Short anawer...

Factory Drive Mode... decent but choked.

Factory Sport Mode... fun but choked.

Tuned Drive Mode... pisses on Factory Sport Mode.

Tuned Sport Mode... screw the MPGs and hang on.

Tuned Sport Mode with Throttle Signal Controller set to Race Mode 3.9... make sure your Will is up to date.

I truly wish I had just gone with Revolution Automotive 1st instead of an "off the shelf / safe" tune. There's no comparison.

The hardest thing to get used to is restraining yourself to the speed limit. Going fast all the time BURNS gas and I live in Officer Dipshit Land... The difficulty comes with how "effortlessly" the truck will ramp up from 10 mph to 60 mph. The truck doesn't feel like it's working hard at all and then Boom,,, you have to tap the brakes to keep from overdoing it and drawing too much attention to yourself.

But.. when the conditions are right... ?

Sorry the video sucks. I could only load it in portrait mode.

I've had maybe a dozen Raptor owners call me a liar...

IDGAS... feel free to line'm up. I already know the results. If I get a good launch, I'll jump ahead at the start. By the ⅛ mile, we'll be door to door. By the ¼ mile, the Raptor will have me by 1½-2 truck lengths. It is what it is.

These times were done once to give me an idea of what I'm sitting on. I do not drag race my truck. I just lean on the extra power in small doses. My primary guage screen is my Avg. MPGs. I do try to keep my foot out of it as much as possible but I'll never get good gas mileage with 18 stop-starts going to work 6 days a week. So I may as well have power. But really,,, the numbers don't mean shit. I go by feel. And my truck feels like beast.

Mmm, maybe not. Raptor is a heavier truck. I would be interested to know what your truck would do in the quarter mile.

Jealousy ! I believe it. you have an aggressive tune, down pipe, exhaust, intake. Doesn't take much to wake these trucks up.

I watched that video (and a few others like it) before I started my foolish spending spree. I got the best of all those parts (within my budget). I threw it on the rollers and got 336 RWHP. I'm not sure what I would have to do to reach 350 RWHP unless i swapped out injectors or did a turbo upgrade.

They did some math and calculated 375 HP at the crank and 390 TQ. Then I ordered the plate to make the interior feel more "custom". IDGAF who likes it (cuz it didnt come with the truck),,, it's there for my enjoyment.

I think you're in the sweet and safe spot. 390 tq is probably the safe limit, or close to it. Having a 5 second 0-60 truck is plenty fast. No one would guess you were coming!
