I think my Ranger is broken. lol I continue to get really good mpg and most of this were short trips (4 miles) each way bringing Annie to the gym. I did fill up last Saturday morning before going to Tombstone but even that was all backroads driving. The only highway driving was 32 miles up to central Tucson yesterday.

Gez man, catching every green light maybe? The red lights KILL my MPG here in Vegas. I too do a lot of 2-5 miles drives and can easily end up in the 13mpg range driving normal but also have too many traffic lights on my way. If you get one you darn near get them all.

The city I'm in is small, only 2 miles x 8 miles and we don't have many lights here. On my normal route there's only one and even if I hit the red it changes pretty quickly. Plus it's flat here with very few hilly areas and those areas are in the southern section which I rarely need to go to.

Once you get into Tucson there are lights everywhere and you can watch your miles crash. There are lights every 50 yards and it can take you 20 minutes to go 5 miles especially if you're trying to go east to west. They don't have any highway splitting the city so it's stop n go all the way across. Luckily most things we need are on the west side and we rarely have to cross over to the east.

I was seeing those MPG numbers when traveling. Esp when going south from central NC to the low country of South Carolina. Lost a mpg going back north. 450' change in elevation. I 'd see 27-28 going south. 25.5-26.5 going north. Putzing around here in the Piedmont of NC with mild hills I see 25.5 or so in daily driving. it'll dip to 24.5 if I drive a bit more heavy footed, but I rarely drive aggressive.

Man, sounds like a peaceful town to drive around in. When we first moved here there werent as many people, traffic and lights. Did the Glendale, CA drive again today and was happy to almost touch 23mpg on the cluster, should have been an actual 22mpg trip at least.
