Why I always have hidden door key at hand!I agree with most of the above comments, I'll ignore the one by the obvious apple fan boy. It has worked on my android phone very well, when I needed it. Yes it can be sketchy when you or your truck have bad cell reception. The only way it communcates with your truck is a cell connection through the Ford servers. Yes, the connection to the truck is via ATT cell service. Inside buildings especially commercial buildings can be problimatic. I have a neice who lives in a cell dead zone, doesn’t matter what carrier, no service. It won't work there.
Depends on the model, but generally yes. Mine has a 2 mile range. If installed by a good shop, should be perfectly reliable. So how does the compustar work ? Is it a Fob ?
Sorry about that, it's just some people use Google and Android interchangeably. My bad, you know what they say about assuming.Just curious who the Apple Fan Boy is? I know I mentioned an issue with the Google Phones(only a small percentage of the Android phones all together) but I dont recall anything about Apple.
I just assumed Ford Pass was satellite , ATT has me sour on it a bit , not a problem now with my current whereabouts , but if that changes...Depends on the model, but generally yes. Mine has a 2 mile range. If installed by a good shop, should be perfectly reliable.
On the Rangers, it's just a piggy back module under the dash. Basically a plug and play.
Standard OEM fob also works as well after install so you don't lose anything.
The new compustar fobs also are a little pricier, but nicer than the old ones. Honestly, it looks like an OEM Ford part as well.
