When I was a volunteer firefighter, in Texas, we had an old deuce-and-a-half with an ancient Motorola radio that you had to rev the engine to use, it drew so much amperage and could kill the battery in seconds!The first cars I bought (used) had radios (AM only) that had tubes. After starting the car and turning on the radio, you had to wait a short time before the radio made noise.
