I ordered a 2021 Ranger on August 25. Soon after I received a VIN and a projected build date of October 18. The Ford website shows the confirmation of order but the truck is not yet in production. I saw another website indicating a startup of 2022 Ranger production, like next week. So I won't be surprised to get the bad news any time now.
These times suck.
Maybe the 2022 models will, at least, include a brake controller with the tow package.
Reread the 2022 schedule and it's all the way into December. So maybe we will get our 2021s

I think the VIN contains the model year. From a quick google search, the 10th position should be a letter and if it's M that means its a 2021

I ordered a 2021 Ranger on August 24th. My first build date was Oct. 25th. It has now been moved to Nov. 22nd per my Dealer

Spoke to my dealer yesterday and I brought up the fact that Ford was delaying deliveries for Bronco's and F-150's and my understanding is the original deal is being honoured and he said I was right, to send an email with a proper complaint so they could go back to Ford to argue Ranger customers should get the same consideration.

Hoping to hear back today. And on top of that, my friend just got his Maverick delivered yesterday, now I have a severe case of "I want my new truck too!"

who are you sending the email (proper complaint) to?
the dealership, or Ford corporate?
the dealership, my sales rep asked for it on behalf of his sales manager and they are supposed to use the email when dealing with ford corporate. he said coming from the customer adds weight to it.

I have also called ford customer service twice (the call centre), contacted ford service on twitter and briefly spoke to ford credit canada. to be honest, it seems like the company communications is structured to keep customers away from ford motor co, and only deal with dealerships. in my opinion this is unfortunate and is a missed opportunity for ford.

Just as a comparison for you , my order was confirmed Aug. 11, original build date was Sept. 27
then pushed to Nov. 1 and as of today no window sticker has shown up on Fords site (which from what I've learned here usually happens a week before build date) so not seeing the sticker this week I'm guessing my order may be moved again, I plan on reaching out to my salesman next week for updates.?

I kind of wonder if this request for the email is just lip service and or redirection from the issue.
perhaps they realise they made a mistake and don't want to admit to it.
The thought has crossed my mind too. None of the Ford contacts were able to say if the order ever existed or not so I can only assume the dealer had done their job and what I'm being told is true.

Is yours a Lariat ? I don't really expect to get it until sometime in January if I am lucky

Just now I received a call from my dealer telling me that due to supply issues, my order for a 2021 Ranger has to be changed to a 2022 Ranger. Small price increase possible. Production not to start until December.
My order was placed in mid-August.
I have a hunch they are cherry picking the more loaded Rangers to complete this model year and the less option loaded ones such as mine are being bumped to model year 2022.
Don't know what will become of my $1000 incentive.
