Redarc controller

Just starting the install of my Ford branded Redarc controller and I've noticed in the Redarc threads that the adjustment knob unit seems to have a little light that acts as a position indicator for the knob. Mine doesn't have that. The cover plate has a hole for the light but there is definitely no separate light on my unit. Before I start drilling just want to make sure I don't need to drill that second hole for the indicator light.

There is a back light that lights blue all the way around the knob when a trailer is connected. It turns red and gets brighter as you apply more brake.

I thought the extra hole was just making a key so the switch body won't rotate but I don't remember there being anything on on the switch body that would use the key.

The new ones do not have it. I just picked mine up the other day and the bezel has the hole yet there is no led to fill it.

My OEM Ford Redatc controller does not have a separate light. The knob itself lights up different colors.

If not mistaken there is another color for when you turn the trailer brakes off for OffRoad driving.
