Sell to Carvana. Did it with my focus and will be doing it with the ranger soon. I got the quote from last over the summer just to see on mine and it was 34k w/ 20k miles. They give way more than a dealer will, won’t hassle you for not including accessories(they only care about what the car came with from factory), and you get the check and can cash it the moment they arrive to pick it up. Hopefully Michigan will implement a law allowing manufactures to sell direct to consumers, and manufactures will follow. Would love to never have to speak to a salesman again.
Carvana is offering 25K for my 2020 XLT with all the options and 30K miles. Not great considering the dealer near me has a 2020 XLT with fewer options, but FX2 and 25K miles, for 33K. Which is what I paid for mine new 3 years ago.

Some times it is about location... I traded mt 19 XLT Ranger for a 22 F150 Lariat 5.0 and still getting offers for 28-29 for my Ranger in email. - 18 months later and 10K less. Now they want to buy my V8 F150 for 55K? The "NEWNESS" of Ranger has worn off until the new REDESIGN shows up, I think.

Was at the dealer today looking at an F150 to replace my Ranger. 2019, Lariat, 501A, bedliner, bed cover, running boards, the works. 40,000 miles on it. They offered $25k for it which seems way low to me. Anything comparable for sale around here starts at $32k, so I was expecting at least $28k. Not like there's a overabundance of new rangers sitting on lots right now either, so I can't imagine they would have trouble selling it. Guess I'm in the ranger till the CDF bushing gives up.

Anyone else have recent trade in values to compare?
I have a 2020 Lariat with 10,500 miles loaded all options, dealer I bought it from offered me 31,000 two weeks ago. I hardly ever drive it so I thought might as well sell it but not at that price.

Looks like the bubble is about to pop...wait for reality to hit...
agree here. i saw this on Car Dealership Guy's twitter (I love reading the data he posts):

Always gotta be leery of anyone trying to predict the future in any way, but i've shopped my ranger around a bunch since summer looking for a full size. every time the trade offers from different dealerships are dropping. 2019 XLT with sport and fx4 package, side rails, spray in bed liner, and tonneau cover -- in May I got a $28.5k offer (I was at 55k miles), and go all the way to last month i got a $24k offer at 60k miles (an 18.75% drop over 5 months and 5k miles!).

Even the monthly alerts I get for my wife's 4Runner I see it's value dropping too.

If new and used vehicle prices are starting to dip down, trade prices will too. It sure seems to be a bubble, as Msfitoy points out.

how bad does Carvana nitpick you when they pick up your vehicle? they usually beat every dealer by ~$2,500, but I'm worried they'll show up and nitpick my truck back down in price.

RETIRED!
I just traded in my 2022 Tremor Crew Cab with the 501A package. It had 477 miles on it when I handed them the keys. One dealer offered $40,200 trade in value the other offered $39,000.

It is currently listed for sale for $43,200

I wouldn’t even tell them you’re trading it in. Work out a confirmed price with the f150 first , then tell them you would like to do a trade in. Never say what you can afford for a monthly payment, how much you want to put down etc.

Good practice Jason. In my case I have x plan so I know what my 6g will cost. The devil will be 100% in the trade vs sell myself. They are hedging on giving me a trade price til my new truck comes in and that is smart on their part as my value keeps going down.

No complaints from me on the focus I sold and that had a few exterior scratches, one which I disclosed as it was very noticeable. They came to my house, took pics of the outside of the car, then a few interior pics and handed me the check. There’s a spot on the site to disclose any damage, that’s where I put a pic of the one scratch. It was still 3k more than any dealer and I didn’t have to deal with sales people.

My brand new '21 FX4 Lariat 501a crew cab with 13k on it was totalled back in April. They ended up giving me 42-ish plus tax. So about 45,500 when all was said and done. Just bought a new (to me) '21 Tremor Lariat 501a with 33k a month ago for 36,800. ?

They offered $25k for it
You were at the dealer. Nuff Said.
Used Car Sales are the HIGHEST profit market in the Auto Industry.
It's the highest profit because they buy low and sell high.
They know they can give that Ranger the obligatory 102 point inspection and a car wash and move it for $35K. Bonus Points if they get some schmuck to finance through them at 18% interest too.

If I was the dealer, I would have offered you $25 for an easy $10k profit too.
Try selling it to a private party. They'd be happy to take it off your hands for $32K and save $3k in the process.

That does seem pretty low. I listed mine for sale back in July and a few dealership buyers offered me $26k. It's a '19 XLT FX4 with 75k miles at the time.

just be honest in the comments and you should be fine. The 3 big ones I would check is vroom, carvana and CarMax.
