I don't have the exact numbers anymore but I got a heck of a lot more money from the dealer trading in my 2019 F-150 XL in for my current 2021 Ranger (XL w/ FX2 and STX packages; that's a mouthful.)

Never hurts to check with your local brick and mortar.

A bunch of dealers said they wouldn’t even buy mine at all because they cannot sell it because there is a ā€œno fixā€ recall on the seatbelt
This made me curious so I researched that recall.

It looks like it affects a lot of Rangers so I went to NHTSA to be sure.

I'm clear there too.

I just noticed it only affects Super cabs, not SuperCrew.

I'm pretty sure that a factory buyback, or "Lemon" shows up in the title history.

This would definitely kill resale.

Like having a Salvage or Rebuilt title.

If you buy one, make sure you like it enough to keep it a long time.
Girlfriend has a 19 Ranger Lariat, it was $46,000 new. It has about 38,000 on it now. She paid $35,000 in June or July. I’ve checked Carvana a few times in the last couple months and they consistently offer around $13,000. The truck has every bell and whistle I believe short of the keypad to enter the vehicle. A couple little paint spots, which I guess are pretty normal with this paint job. Otherwise truck is in very good shape.
When she bought it the dealer told us it had been marked as a lemon by Ford. Apparently the 1st owner had to take it back because there was an issue with the transmission (metal filings I believe).
Do you guys think that’s why it’s being valued so low? We were considering trying to sell it based on what guys were saying they were being offered in threads on here. But obviously whatā€˜s being offered isn’t even a consideration.
Paying $35K for a marked Lemon sounds like way too high if it impacts any future value….

just saying .

Just looked up my trade in and it has gone up again even as the calendar turned and made it another year older - not down. Ford offered me $40K on my XLT and while I love the quick handling and easy parking I am just not that comfortable in the smallish seats and low storage capabilities. But the Lariat in question on the lot was way to long for my garage so I decided yesterday not knowing exactly what I will receive trade in but seeing there is no let up in demand and ongoing chip shortage, I ordered a a new F150 build for the first time in my life exactly how I wanted a 2022 Space white F150 5.0 XLT crewcab. Crap shoot of when it arrives for what my trade in will be worth then? Could me more or could be less 3-5 months from now but I am happy with the exact build and no more and no less. ? Just going to embrace the uncertainty and roll with it. Chances are I will get a new truck after 3 years of owning this Ranger ultimately at no cost but having to come up with the cost difference tween this 2019 and the 2022 22 F150.
