Thank you, I 'll research that!
ANZO makes the aftermarket ones that work with BLIS. Also likes like Ebay has OEM-like replacements for around $300-400 each. Lots of options as long as you have the radar modules you can swap in.

I have a way to make this whole thing go away without an accident claim (at fault or not) on your CarFax report…

Do an awesome tail light tape job, one that wouldn’t be noticeable in the dark. Then leave it parked outside overnight with the tailgate down and a socket set sitting on the tailgate.

A theft claim will look better on the report.

But seriously, what I’m really saying is consider any future CarFax report - it might be worth it to buy the replacement parts you need and do the install yourself.

Haha such ingenuity!!

I think that is indeed the route I will go....DIY is totally my thing and with the help of all the members here I think this will be a relatively easy repair.

And since my deductible is $500 purchasing a decent replacement with BLIS is not far off that number, so no claims!

See who on the forum resides close to you, and swap taillights with the person. Without thier knowing of course. They probably already posted what tools you'll need too. :like:

Someone in my family backed gently into something the other day and broke the rear tail light.

Do I have to replace the whole unit or can the plastic part be replaced?

Hoping to avoid an insurance claim at those prices!

Had similar issue. Yes make the claim. Most insurance will just pay you and you can replace yourself and save some cash. That's what I did. You can buy the light less the BLIS sensor from Levittown ford for about $900 and put your BLIS sensor in it. This way you don't have to have it recalibrated.

Thank you, here in Quebec it'll get done at the insurance company's chosen body shop. All OEM parts etc.... Still trying to decide which way to go.

The truck is leased so I need to choose wisely.

Ouch, sorry that happened to you 😢
Things like this make me glad I got the poor man's lights on the xl trim, though I admire the LEDs, they are very cool.
Still though, I'm sure even mine would cost a pretty penny if they needed replacing.
Good luck pal 👍

So why not get online and see what the junk yards have. They can send it to you from around the country. Rock auto has them for under a grand. Or ebay for < 400 bucks. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1260486526...0XdPM5GQ5Zs+tCZCWIWTByYFw=|tkp:BlBMUK6c_sa7Yw

I feel your pain - had same thing happen to my driver's side rear tail light, had a crack kinda outta nowhere. Someone mentioned the Anzo's, which is what I got for mine for 550. I am about to sell my stock ones though if interested (passenger side is in tact but I took Bliss module out for my anzo's).

Thank you!

Yeah I think I needed XLT for whatever reason, I can't rem why now! I'm certainly not a fan of all the radar sensors etc having learned how to drive in a Dodge Dart in 1977 😂

Ouch, sorry that happened to you 😢
