Installed Wilco Switchgate tire carrier for my spare 35 (unfortunately, not high clearance one, as it's known to hit ford badge apparently when tailgate is down), but super happy with how it turned out. License plate had to be relocated as you see and camera as well (camera is drilled in center...
Admittedly don't have frame of reference for tune with smaller tires, but objectively still feels heavy from a start but picks up nicely between 20-40. Mainly got tune to fix tire size/odometer and any performance gain was gonna be gravy lol.
Just a quick update - with the ford performance tune also installed around same time as 35s, getting 16-16.5 mpg thus far, mostly city driving...pretty happy with that. Then again, I have been perhaps a bit more conservative than usual driving lol. But thus far, not too shabby.
I know this is an old post, but im eyeing the wilco hitchgate switch OR solo model (high clearance) as well for my 315/70/17 spare...read at this link below that the badge of the ranger interferes with it when tailgate is dropped, is that true?! Any other pictures from the rear and further out...
Nice. I was suuuuper hesitant, i know 35s (well, they are technically 34.5 I guess) are pushing it and go against prevailing wisdom. I was running 285/70s for a while and it was time to replace them anyways so i said, screw it hah. It looks night and day better and outside of potential tbd...
Havent pushed it to really know definitively but in the past day, haven't notice anything. Shop seemed confident it was good to go but im still skeptical, so we'll see. 17x9.5 Black rhino armory Wheels with +6 offset in case curious. 3" eibach pro lift in front w/1" rear block.
Replaced my BFG KO2 285 70 17s with 315 70 17 KO2s ! Also replaced factory running boards with GoRhino Dominator's. 3 years in and mods keep continuing lol. Waiting on Ford Performance Tune to arrive any day now as well.
I know this is an old thread, but wanted to post that I bit bullet and replaced 285/70/17 ko2s for 315/70/17 ko2s and it seemingly fits! Crash bars had to go (even my readylift ones from before wouldnt work), waffle thing behind fender liner, and some minor cutting of the front bumper. Running...
Truck looks awesome btw. A bit unrelated to your post, but the BDS lift you have is the 6" one, right? Was 8" a typo? How do you like the ride? To fit the 35s after that lift did the crash bars still need to be removed / honeycomb stuff behind liner need to come out?
I've heard catch cans are...
Love them...small issue is that i noticed some condensation can get into them unfortunately. But doesn't seem to be a big deal, for now at least. But aesthetically, love them, and seem otherwise well made.
Money pit continues! Borla exhaust with black dual tips went on. Have to say, I do love the exhaust note, definitely a bit louder when starting her up but it's a nice sound overall, not obnoxious at all.
I appreciate that! I actually do not have the tailgate applique, was considering it, but probably wont get it. I did get the Air Design tailgate lip spoiler though.
Bought this little 3d printed phone stand from etsy...works very well holding phone sideways and fits right into that little compartment. Doesnt move around at all, just drop it in and good to go.
