Unlike some, I don’t have a disdain for Taco’s. Our 2016 Corolla has 146,000 miles on it with nothing but maintenance. A Taco simply won’t tow or carry enough. There was only ONE midsize truck that met my minimums, and it was about $8K less than any full size. I also already own a ‘98 3/4 ton Chevy, and didn’t want or need another full size.

Yeah those bump stops are the aforementioned Sumos.

All of my vehicles have been pretty reliable except my 2002 Subaru Impreza Outback Sport. It had all kinds of issues, and cost me all kinds of time, frustration, and money. I will never own another Subaru. I did not find the dealers or the company helpful. Nope not ever.

As far as towing, the Ranger is great.
That was the vintage of Subaru that had head gasket issues, I think. Sounds like they were real junk.

I had gasket issues, but also many more issues. No Subaru support and just junk. Finally drove it to town on 3 cylinders with messed up brakes at 139K miles and got $750 and was happy to see it go. I spent a ton of time and money to keep it on the road.

This Is the fourth summer towing with the Ranger. I put the blue Sumo springs on this Spring. Wish I had done it sooner. My Wife really likes the improved ride, and loves that things in the trailer are less jostled around when we get to our destination.

Indeed.
I was making a lame joke about a recent bump stop thread.
The key word here is "lame".
?
I picked up what you were putting down. LOL

Shocks won't do anything for ride height, although I usually recommend them as Ford shocks tend to be crap for towing.

I prefer the Blue Sumo springs in the rear of mine. Again, those won't pick the back end up any higher, but they will prevent it from sagging so much in the rear.

Also, if you are serious into towing, don't discount upgrading all 4 shocks. The rears make the most difference, for sure, but matching the fronts gains you a huge amount of control as well.
Do the Blue Sumo springs make a ride difference when not towing or just under load. I'm talking about bouncing and stability improvements.

I have installed Eibach shocks on the truck, but was wondering if the Sumo springs make any further positive gains in ride.

I dislike the parabolic spring ride and don't consider it on par with leaf springs. I do tow, but it is a light trailer ~2000 lbs.

I would say, yes. They are a decent amount longer than the factory bump stops, so they 'catch' the axle sooner when you hit a bump and it is in compression.

Even as soft as the factory stops are, they can be a little 'crashy', the Sumo's take a bit of that out.

I ordered the blue Sumo’s yesterday, as I noticed one of my factory bumps was completely gone, and the other ripped.
