I searched for this for a couple minutes and cant seem to find a thread of anyone doing it - anyone with a 301A package truck replace their back glass for one with a sliding rear window like on 302A? Is there anything that would prevent this from happening?

I figure it's the same frame just different glass but unsure. Any info out there?

Funny you post this. I was washing my windows last night. Got to the rear one and it was a simple process. That’s when I thought to myself, man glad this isn’t a sliding window. That would be a pain to get all around the frame and slider. One flat sheet is easy peasy!

My only question would be if all the sliders come with defrost grid?

best,
Phil

My last 4 trucks have had it and a couple even had them with electric open and close, I still never used it. I'm glad mine is just a clean sheet of glass now.

The sliding little window is gay. I have it and wish it was solid glass.

I have an XLT and did the same thing before I got a cap.

the only problem is you will need a new cap/bezel to guid the top of the middle read seatbelt. I will look and find the codes for you.

your old cap won’t snap together, it pushes out and won’t allow the belt to slide. It’s like an $11 part, trouble is it’s been out of stock for awhile, im still waiting.
What do you mean about the middle rear seat. Everyone is saying they don't use it. I would keep it down when my dogs are in the back seat and I can leave side windows up and that open running in to stores. Anyone in NC want to try to swap.

I think I’ve opened mine once.

i opened mine once when i was cleaning it.
It’s worthless. I saw a Toyota that the entire back window goes down with the push of a button. That was nice
What is wrong with you guys? Do you dislike fresh air?

Let me guess, y'all are the folks bitching about recirc not staying on forever because you like to smell your own farts?

Seriously, I use that damn thing daily. It's the best way to ventilate the cab. Slight crack on the windows, slider open, heaven I tell you!

Plus these dudes like it.

where do I start? this might take awhile......

the main thing is convenience.
I have 4 windows I can open with switches right beside my left hand.
that silly little window i cant reach unless I stop, get out, go in the back door and manually open it.

if thats a bad trait as a human.....then I accept that I'm broken.
That's not one of your bad human traits. ;)

I just reach back with my right arm and flick it open or closed. Works alright, of course I'd prefer it to be powered. I'm not very tall either.
