Raptor 2023 eu version bed load

Hello rangers I hope this is the right post section for this. I am about to buy a raptor 2023 v6 Petrol eu version. I have a question about bed load I will be carrying around 1000 lbs worth of stuff in the bed at all times, small diesel tank and some tools. I test drove it this week and love the car and especially the suspension. The car will be used as a work truck no extreme offroading or jumping.. will only driving on bad forest roads. Can the suspension handle this kind of load in the bed.?Thank you for tips

Just doing a quick google search, the ranger raptor’s load capacity is 1400-1500lbs. Personally, I wouldn’t recommend nearly maxing out the suspension and driving it that way all the time. Your rear axle will be riding on the bump stops, making the truck ride like a piece of lumber… Not to mention the constant strain you’re putting on the transmission.

If you plan on keeping that much weight in the bed, I would definitely suggest getting some load bearing leaf springs, or even airbags, to keep the rear end at stock height and allow the suspension room to breathe.

Another thing to consider is that the raptor rangers and F150’s were NOT designed to be work trucks, their design is focused on offroad performance. Yes, they have beds and tow hitches but they’re not meant to be hauling weight or towing trailers all the time.

If you plan on using it as a work truck, I would honestly steer away from the raptor model. I think you’ll be pushing that truck to its limit and may not find it a suitable option for what you’re needing it to do. A regular 4x4 ranger has twice the load capacity as a raptor. Not as fast on the trails but it doesn’t sound like that’s what you’re doing with the truck anyway… Just my 2 cents. 🤷‍♂️

Yeah I have considered and I will be getting a Wildtrak instead.

yeah the raptor may not be the best truck for my needs but damn its a good looking car.. I will look into a wildtrak instead, thanks for the great answer. And have a great day.

Those wildtraks are nice looking too. I almost like those better than the raptors to be honest. A coworker of mine bought a raptor not too long ago. It’s a nice looking truck but he’s already kicking himself because he realized it can hardly tow his camping trailer. He had to spend a chunk of money to upgrade the suspension and regear the transmission so it’ll actually pull his trailer uphill. He admits it was an “impulsive purchase” and wishes he researched more before buying it.
