Slush and ice is terrible to work in. Glad we don't get much of that!
I would rather deal with 2 foot of snow than any amount of ice. And a thick layer of slush not much better to deal with than ice.

very cool! growing up in south ive missed out on all sorts of winter related fun. That's a roller which are for compressing deeper snows down, like 4" plus. Here is another![]()
ive had mud cake and stick to the rims and make it feel out of balance but it typically comes out in a few miles.Anyone have issues with snow getting stuck in the rims and throwing them out of balance? This is the first truck I’ve ever had this problem with. After every snow it seems like my teeth want to rattle out.
Yes, if it freezes into ice this will happen. If I drive in deep snow and will park it overnight I will scrape it out first. Happens in our Subaru too.Anyone have issues with snow getting stuck in the rims and throwing them out of balance? This is the first truck I’ve ever had this problem with. This one's difficult.St Louis got 10" and the Ranger was flawless. There were people stuck all over and all I could do was help push. So I just got a recovery strap so I can be in a better position to help in the future. I have Googled and not sure best practices with this as many of the results were vague or assuming that your were pulling out off road vehicles with good places to hook into like on the front of my Ranger.
I also got a hitch with a tow hook and a d ring shackle but I'm not sure what I would do to drag out a little BMW. Anyone have any guidance? I'd like to be able to help, but I don't want to break stuff.
That is pretty cool Phil. I assume you could hook those up to most vehicles. Looks like fun.Hi Folks,

holy snow!Last night we got some 20-30cm of additional snow. I went to the town in noonish and it was still raining and I didn't feel like going out for a photoshoot. So I took few snaps for you from the trip. Some parts of the road had been plowed, some were already claimed back by the snow and wind piling.

Please note the best ranger mod ever in the lower left part of the picture. Additionally if you look closely you can see the electric heating wires in the windshield.

Please look carefully, you might see the road in here.
Few kilometers later I saw an ATV in the ditch/slope. Stopped to investigate. It seems that the driver was using the ATV to plow the snow, got bit too far and could not get out. What ever he did just made the ATV move even more down the slope.
Backed up, attached the winch rope from ATV to recovery hook and pulled the poor sod out. Took like zero effort for the ranger. He was glad to get out from the ditch although visibly bit embarrassed.
So I spared him from the internet. Nah, not really, just forgot the picture as I was hurrying for lunch.
Edit: Just noticed something.. our rain gauge..
