Recently I was on the shoulder of an interstate with 0 signal for my verizon phone. Att customers had a signal. As I understand it, the ranger wifi is att. So, I'm wondering if, in similar circumstances my phone could be connected to the ranger wifi making it able to make wifi calls. And, can the wifi be used even when the truck is being towed behind a motorhome? Anyone accomplished this?

Idk about the WiFi in the trucks but I’ve been looking at the vehicle version of Starlink. It has amazing coverage up here in Montana so I think I’m gonna get something like that.

Yes, the trucks cellular connection is locked into AT&Ts network and is only 4G. So, if there is a AT&T signal where you are you can do what your talking about. Not sure what the cost is to keep an AT&T subscription for the truck or if it is worth it.

I currently have USCellular service on our phones, and have found very few dead spots in our travels. When we do it is usually dead for everyone. It will be interesting to see now that they are being bought out by T-Mobile.

In the verizon dead zone in NW NM att and mobile had service. Looks like you'll be good to go.

I think it’s $15 a month for basically unlimited, though not super fast. I’ve had 3 people connected to mine and it works.

Mine is twenty dollars a month. correct me if I'm wrong but you could not use the service behind a motorhome as the truck would need to be on.

Yep, truck has to be on or recently so - like within 10 - 15 minutes. It does pull in signal better than a phone, but is not 5g.

As long as your plan and phone support Wi-Fi-calling and you have the feature enabled.

I think that price is if you're a current AT&T customer and adding the truck to the plan, for those getting the plan on just the truck, I think it is $25/month (at least that is what they are billing me).
