Ranger vs Explorer 2.3

Just bought my wife an 22 Explorer 2.3 xlt. I have a turbo smart BOV from my 22 Ranger, from what I can tell the engines are the same just different tuning. Do you think it’s ok to run the ranger bov on the explorer ?

Did you find any u-tube videos of that having been done? I would be very cautious of doing that.

It’s the same, the engines are very similar but a few parts are different between them.

I think all 2.3 Eco are the same design, even Mustang, but are tuned differently either thru software or cam. Accessory locations may be different.

Disclaimer: I don’t know what I’m talking about and I should be considered dim in comparison to yourselves..with that out of the way.

.Maybe it’s possible to find the part number for the brand of BOV offered for the exploder 2.3l and compare it to the part number of the Ranger 2.3l BOV? Like the turbo smart is electronic isn’t it so it would be controlled correctly either application, unless there’s a difference in wire harness… ooo or maybe call the manufacturer of the BOV and ask if the parts are completely identical or if there is a actual difference. Looking on turbosmarts website it looks like the BOV I have is good for the 2.3 ranger and explorer 3.0. It doesn’t look like they even have an option for a 2.3 explorer which is where the confusion is. I don’t want to risk damaging anything. I’ve sent a message to Turbosmart. I’ll see what they suggest
