A number of makers use it - but mostly on V8s and 6 cylinder engines that I'm aware of, I wonder how effective it is saving gas on a 4 cylinder. Looks like GM put a lot of tech features into the engine - but no dual injection.
Before I retired, my work truck was a Chevy Tahoe V8. It had CD. Unless I was coasting downhill it very rarely activated.

IDK but this looks pretty bad ass to me. Of course we need to see if the "adjustments" to the transmission were all good.

I really love the layout of the interior too. No iPad looking center screen and I like where they placed the center vents.

At least they got the location of the parking brake right. I don't know what ford was thinking putting it by the gearshift

First, GM took money to save their asses. Gov't should have let them flounder IMHO. I feel the same about Chrysler... multiple times. If a company can't make it on their own, screw them. But our gov't jumps in with "too big to fail." Bullshit. And in saving their ass, GM screwed over so many people. Just wrong.

Can't fault Ford for taking government money for EV's. Government offers the incentive. Don't hate the players, hate the game. I took the standard deduction when I did my taxes this year. Was I supposed to say "No that's all right Uncle Sam. Let me pay every penny possible" or some such thing? That's a big hell no at my house. Gov't is pushing EV's and using cash to entice the manufacturers. Personally I don't like it but not much I can do about it. If the programs are offered, the incentives will be used.

As to China... yea, chaps my ass. :curse: Every company that is involved with China chaps my ass. Including my employer. But in the battery world they flat out have a jump on us. Look at BYD. Hate that company. But they are absolutely on fire! Multiple industries that involve lithium -ion batteries. They are rocking in every segment they are in. Even forklifts. Bastards are a royal PIA with their electric forklifts. Luckily the forklifts themselves continue to be a complete POS but I can't bash them on the lithium-ion side. Nor their battery warranty that kicks everyone else's ass. If they weren't a Chinese company I've most likely admire what they've done. So yes, you can throw rocks at big Blue on that one. I'll throw rocks with you. But on the other hand, name the companies that tell China to drop dead versus doing business with them. Short list my friend.

BTW, don't even get me started on how much technology China stole from others to get where they are.... bastards steal everything they can get their hands on. But I digress.

Sorry, longer post than I planned. Bit of a hot button for me.
I think a lot of it was too govt kickback shady deal to fail. ?

Wouldn't worry about Chrysler...their owned by Fiat, and the Spaghetti Sauce Division will keep it afloat.

Pretty interesting piece of press/advertising on the L3B:

Dual Volute looks like the logical upgrade from twin scroll (Engineering Explained has a good video on the L3B explaining the small difference in the way the exhaust gases are routed) and I like the electric water pump. Being able to dissociate coolant flow from engine RPM seems like a big plus to me.

"The pistons in the engine go up and down, up and down, up and down, connected to the crankshaft that goes round and round, round and round, round and round".......

I love the hand parking brake on my Ranger..... MUCH better than foot brakes, IMO.

Foot parking brakes can be easily missed in an actual emergency. Hand brakes are right there for easy grabbing. Not that most people now would know how to properly use an emergency parking brake correctly and end up crashing.

The new twins don't even have a physical knob to turn the headlights on/off.

Has to be done via the infotainment screen!

No thank you.
Manufacturers are getting outta control with these screens. If I wanted a Tesla, I would have bought one.

I don’t recommend or encourage this but I once drove home ten miles using only the hand brake in my brothers Honda Civic after losing brakes from rotted brake lines. I’m pro hand brake, it can easily be used in an emergency.

Chrysler is owned by Stellantis. Stellantis owns Fiat, CDJR, Maserati, Alfa Romeo, Citroen, Peugeot, Opel, Lancia, Vauxhall and Abarth.

Stellantis is now the fourth largest auto maker behind Toyota, Volkswagen and Nissan/Renault.
