Hi, everytime I start my truck (last 3 weeks) radio automatically starts with a random station, before it would remember whatever was chosen before turning the truck off, certain usb song, bluetooth song or radio station and if I pressed audio off before turning the engine off, truck would start with audio off and then once audio on it would go back to the last source it was used. It remembers speakers setting but forgets i.e that usb or bluetooth had shuffle on. I did hard and soft reset, battery off for the night but the issue still is present, anyone had similar issues?

never had that issue but it makes me think that the battery may be getting ready to give up. the 5g rangers go into a "deep sleep" mode to save battery when it is low or going bad.

I forgot to add that I did reset to the battery management system for deep sleep mode issue. Any way of testing the battery to see if it's on its way?

Very odd indeed. I'm having similar issues and I know for a fact that it's not battery related. I never, repeat never, turn off my radio before I turn off the ignition key. The next time I start up I find that they radio is turn off! That is one scenario. What has also happened is that when I turn the ignition key on, the radio plays a different station on my sirius feed. As to the question regarding your battery, just take your truck to a reliable local garage and have them test the battery. I will never understand why Ford decided to remove the "battery check" option off the Truck Info data feed. Would be nice to see what voltage the battery puts out when off and if it is charging while running. Hope this helps.

I also have this issue, only in the last few weeks. My battery is less than a year old, so I am confident that is not the issue. I seldom use the radio but instead stream music through my smartphone, and every time I started the truck, it would go automatically to my phone. Lately, every time I turn on the ignition, the radio defaults to an AM station (not a random station, it is the same every time). As I live in the sticks, it is usually nothing but static. If anybody knows a fix, I am interested in hearing it.

I hoped it was some kind of update that caused it but it doesn't seem like a common issue so probably that's not it

If you check the version of Sync you are running and it's 3.4.22251 you're running into a common issue. This update sent out by Ford works for a while. Then the issues begin to crop up; default settings return at every startup and sometimes the FordPass app loses connectivity. It's from the rewrite data partition getting full and the system won't retain information. Master resets, soft resets and even detaching the battery won't fix it.

I spoke with a rep at Ford and they are aware of the issue and are working on a fix. Release date is tentative for the end of September

I went to https://cyanlabs.net and (so far) have successfully updated to a version beyond 22251. Everything returned and is staying put as set. The only thing still missing is the labels for my Sirius XM stations.

It's crazy frustrating that is was allowed to happen and is more common than you think.

Lately when I come back to the truck, the radio is OFF, on an AM station, and going to Sirius shows "0" Radio ID until I change stations.

My wife's 2017 Escape recently had the battery go bad, she indicated hers was doing the AM radio thing first, then disabling the auto/start stop and kicking out lane keep assist fault messages before it went.
