Hi Folks,
I have a 2022 PXIII WildTrak, and I'm towing a reasonably heavy van, normally with just the Wife & myself...
All up the fully loaded touring rig is sitting at 5850kg, so we've only got +/- 150kg to spare on the GCM for car.

I'm considering putting in a Lovells GVM/GCM upgrade to get us back to some spare capacity for passengers & a bit of luggage when required.
My biggest concern is that the upgrade will kill the way that the WildTrak handles the bumps as smoothly as can be when I'm not towing.

Does anyone have any experience with a certifiable suspension upgrade in Australia that doesn't leave the back of the car feeling like a brick..?
I'm thinking possibly parabolic leaf springs would be the most likely option..?
Cheers, BlackJock

thanks for the suggestion LT Dangle, I have considered that option, but it doesn't help me with my GCM challenge with the van on the back - I'm technically maxxed-out as-is...

I guess things must work differently down under. All of these upgrades do nothing to address the fact that you'll potentially be overloading the rear axle.

Not many of us are outside the North America. With that said I can say from recent experience that Dobinsons has a nice set of shocks and springs that also included GVM Upgrades. Even with Weight they do handle well. I would find a nearby Dobinsons Dealer and have a talk with them

Since my car is most similar to yours and I often have to drive to the construction site fully loaded, I can assure you that the 3.2 with the off-road package can easily handle 1/2t to 3/4t more, i.e. 6.5 tons. And I don't expect any excessive wear and tear. Of course you won't win a race anymore. ?
We certainly have much more moderate temperatures here in Germany than you do down there, so you may have to keep an eye on the temperatures from time to time. But I wouldn't worry so much about the weights, I would just drive more carefully.
