Was going to add a cheap set of ditch lights and realized I didn't have the male DT plugs I needed. While I had the hood open I saw this:

Actually I plugged it back in ?... But, I saw this coolant hose that shoots off the degas bottle at 6 o'clock hanging down.

It was loose from here:

Thus allowing it to rest it's heat shielding on this hot little pepper below. You can see the shield has a nice oval where it's been resting on that.

I'm going to run a long zip around it and over the air box where it hooks up to the turbo inlet so it can't happen again. Could have popped loose, or could have been overlooked during reassembly during my coolant fiasco a few weeks back.

Who knows ??‍♂ but, having that hot pipe melt through the coolant hose would be... less than ideal. Check yours and consider a safety zip ?

I can’t check mine, the cat is sleeping on my lap
I sent my cat to the garage to check things out and he reported back all is well, so now back on my lap , thing is a pia at times.

Yeah I don’t trust her since I had her check my transmission. We all know how that went

Doesn't appear to be damaged, but sheesh was it warm laying on it. They obviously think it's an issue because they shielded it...

I'll come up with something here soon, just ain't got time today and I'm back to work tomorrow.

While on the subject, here's an interesting You-tuber mechanic's take on the 2.3L engine found in the 2024 Ranger, regarding the "plumbing" found under the hood. Relevant section starts at 4:15.

Just looked at mine and there is 2 inches clearance between the coolant pipe and reservoir hose. I have a 2023 Tremor if that makes any difference.

Must be something the factory is aware of....my 2021 Lariat has the same shield wrap as NotBudule2 has.

Maybe you could loosen the hose clamps one at a time on that hose and rotate the hose so it clears the other coolant pipe. Mine has a couple of inches clearance.

Snip about 1 inch off the Réservoir side of the hose to shorten it. This will pull the hose up off the chafe point. (Just DO NOT cut it too short)
