Finally got my truck fixed at Ford, it took awhile for them to order a new part and install. I opted to have @robby887 install his 3” spacer kit! He did a great job, and his way of installing made more sense than Rough Country’s instructions!

for those of us not local what is his way vs RC’s?

nevermind. Found the yt video.

watching I can only guess that the axle splines just happen to line back up when he pops the bottom of the strut back in.

When the things comes, I plan on adding one extra step the those instructions. Loosen the axle nut. Then when you're pulling down on the lower control arm it won't be pulling on the CV and pop things out of place.

Right, but per ford the axle nut should not be reused and i've read just on this forum guys either can't get the axle to pull out of the knuckle or they end up still ruining the cv.

I would like to eventually level out my truck, fordrangerlifts.com lift looks pretty simple and straight forward. I'll not be 4 wheeling like the old days, just want a level look and quality ride. How many people own this, what are your thoughts? Is there a downside?

If you can't get your axle to slide out of the knuckle, you probably shouldn't be attempting the rest of the installation. In some of those cases, I'll chalk that up to inexperience. Regarding the axle nut, if that's the price we have to pay to save the CV, then so be it. Some manufactures will allow reuse of the nut, some won't. The ones I have seen will offer a different torque value on the reused nut. If I really truly have to get a new nut I'll do that if it means saving the CV. Either way it's a risk and if you're not 100% confident in your abilities, then don't do it. Get some help or take it to a shop.

I have a friend that's a Ford Tech and yeah, i think i'll have him do the work. I also ordered replacement hub nuts. All the part numbers can be found in Ford's guide:

Wise choice. While I'm confident in my abilities, I do have a mechanic friend that lives very close. He also has a lift. No matter what, it'll still have to go to a full shop for an alignment after.

I had the 2.5" RC's installed and didn't have any issues. Took the RC's out and went with Eibach shocks (no front coils)all around with 2.25" lift in front for a better handling and nicer ride.
