Happy to report today that for the first time post stroke, mom made a complete sentence out loud! for a few days it was only words broken in bits or simple yes no. So a full sentence seemed like an awesome step in the right direction. Been a long week but this was a nice pickup for a Friday!
Thank you all so much, hopefully next report will be more improvements.

Mark, I’m sorry to hear about your mom but so glad to hear about this great development. Sending positive thoughts to her, your family, and to you. Let’s hope that soon, there are more great days like this one as she works hard at her recovery. Stay strong, stay positive.

I know it's frustrating as all get out, but she's doing good and heading in the right way. You're a good son and that helps her more than you know.

Mark, My grandfather had a stroke years ago (early 90's) and there were days that looked bleak. The best thing you can do is just what you all are doing is be there for her and encourage her. Even though she's not as responsive as you'd like she definitely hears you and it'll lift her spirits.

You're so right that we get so caught up in our day to day lives we tend to take loved ones and friends for granted. Sometimes just a quick text to tell someone you're thinking of them can make a person feel so much better. I hope and pray your mom gets better and never give up hope.

Hi Mark,

Having had a few experiences with stroke survivors...there are ups and downs during the convalescence period. It is too early to start drawing conclusion on where your mom will end up. The brain has an amazing way of creating a work around for damaged areas due to stroke but the work around the brain is engaged in accomplishing takes some time. Your key and what you are doing in these early stages is exactly what you should be doing, IMO... Hang in there and stay tough and caring!

Best,
Phil
