Wow and they say WE have high taxes, at least ours are upfront, and we actually get something for them, free health, free education to high school grad level, subsidised University, (used to be free) unemployment benefits, cheap public transport, pension after retirement, etc.
Nothing is free brother you're paying for it one way or another!

I know that the really big jackpots create excitement, but I remember when $5mil was exciting. I wish there was a way to cap the winnings, and have more winner. No one needs more than (pick a number) $5mil
It is exciting and nice to dream. I don't think there should be a cap on the amount because there's other games you could play with smaller jackpots. I tend to play those more because the odds are better. When you get these crazy 900+ million jackpots the odds are much worse but I'll still buy a ticket because you never know. 💰

Never meant it that, way, simply that we had already paid for it upfront, and didn't have to pay again. But yes I agree to the intention you meant.

I get it - when the lottery started in Canada in the ‘70s, I think it was $1 Million and they sold tickets for months before the big draw. It was life-changing and folks could retire on it.

Now, we’re at about $20-30 Million three times a week between the two big lotteries. Sometimes, it gets up to $60-70 Million, which could be life-changing for generations. When folks don’t win for several weeks, because no one picked the numbers that were drawn, there are multiple $1 Million or $5 Million prize draws to clear out the excess.

This creates a lot of happy folks and really spreads the wealth - more winners, as you suggest - I like it!
