I don't think it's rude, per se. I don't make the leap that people are yelling, but I think it's harder to read,. If folks do it so they don't have to worry about capitalization, I would rather people not use caps at all than post in all caps, since both are incorrect.

Let me clarify something here. My point in that original "complaint" thread was that while there are some very serious, and legit complaints on this forum, there are a shitload of trivial complaints as well. Most importantly, I did not even remotely attack any specific individuals. Nor would I ever do so.

This thread however, looks to me to be a blatant attack some some specific individuals. Personally, I don't find that acceptable.

Just my two cents.

You know the Bauhaus movement attempted to remove caps and only wrote in lower case. It's still seen as artsy-fartsy.

Eventually, the oversimplification of the font to only be lower case gave rise to using bold to show the start of a new sentence. But that contradicted the simplification since a bold face is a new font, no different than caps.

Anyway, I'm on a TANGENT AND FULL OF CRAP.

It's interesting that we consider it rude, myself included. I guess it is the easy way to convey anger in type rather than trying to figure out how to underline, italicize, or boldface. I think it should be self governing, I don't think a post or poster should be deleted; we seem to do a righteous job of flaming them as it is!
