Not having a 60/40 option to lift the rear seat. I’m currently storing some bungees in the bins underneath the back seat and I also have a child’s car seat, so accessing the bungees means I have to unlatch the car seat first, place it outside, grab the bungee, and then re-install the car seat. Not fun.

Why do people need tailgate dampers? The tailgate weighs nothing in the first place so I don't understand the need to just drop it and furthermore, I sincerely doubt you'd throw open your side doors all the way every time you open them so what's the difference? It's just a gimmick to me.
It’s helpful when you’ve got a load in your arms. Just pop the latch and let it drop without having to put the load down. More of a luxury than a necessity, but it has its purpose.

I mean, I don't live in the mountains, but I also don't live in flat Kansas or anything either. There's some good hills. Elevation changes of +/- 1000 feet. The driving conditions certainly help, but so does my driving style.
Very impressive and as you say much of it is determined bye how you drive.

It turns out you can do the same thing without a damper!

That damn double-honk when i get out of my running truck with my key in my pocket. Either give me a proper key and switch or stop annoying me when I use the convenience feature.
Had mine for 8 months and still startles me!

My Flex had the pushbutton start and also would do the double honk when I got out, engine running. I didn't like the clunky fob on my pocket anyway, so I got in the habit of putting it in the console when I drove it. It wouldn't honk as long as the fob stayed in the car.

Side Q: Does any one know if you can key a fob to more than one vehicle? I can't imagine having two or more Fords with pushbutton start and carrying those bulky key fobs in my pocket.
..."Do you own a couple of Fords or are you just glad to see me...?

1) Buzzy engine note (seriously no one else?)
2) Cheap out in center console arm rest
3) No ignition trim piece on any trim under Lariat (wtf?)
4) The mushy brakes and that I often times find myself slowly creeping forward at a stop - this really should be #1, the brakes on this truck are awful.
5) 301a XLT has so much tech in it and my seats are all manual control? Come on now.

that’s it for now:crazy:

The turn signal and wiper control arms on the steering column. They just look plain weird, odd and like they don’t belong. Feels like they ran across a bargain deal on them at a garage sale so they bought a bunch and then had to find a place to use them. They just don’t fit the look and style of the Ranger, IMO.

My main pet peeve is the 3 seconds it takes from hitting MAX AC to when I actually get the AC. These 3 seconds feel like 30 in the middle of summer here in the south.

You can only change preset radio stations with the steering wheel controls when the right screen in the dash is on the radio section. I would like to put the right screen on navigation and still be able to change the radio station with the steering wheel arrows. The up and down arrows are not used when navigation is selected for that screen so why not just default them to the radio preset controls when they aren't used.

I think the buzzy engine note comes from either the direct injectors or the high pressure fuel pump, one or the other I'm not sure which. For me it's worse when the engine is cold but pretty muted after it's warmed up.

Agreed the lack of ignition trim is pretty bad, but there are some good threads on how to fix it pretty easily.

Brakes are not mushy on ours, have you had that checked out?

I think it's more about the amount of stop-and-go then the terrain being perfectly flat. We live in Eastern CA, where it's moderately hilly (+/- 3000 ft. max elevation range) but the roads are almost all highways with no signals and few stop signs. We also spend time in the San Jose area, which is very flat but a typical large suburban grid of signals and stops. Our average MPG where we live is ~26 MPG despite occasional climbs and descents of up to 3000 ft., but drops to 18-19 MPG in the city where we're stopping every mile or two.

I really don't have any pet peeves with the truck. My biggest frustration is people that don't use their turn signals.
Oh, you mean those signals to the driver in the next lane to hurry up and close the gap so you can no longer fit into that space you wanted?

Have to agree with the brake comment. It has no feel IMO. I too have creeped forward at a stop too often. Maybe I'm just getting used to electronic brakes.

No gas cap. Engineering be damned, this is just wrong.
