I deal in back end It myself in central Ohio. I would largely agree.
A third vote of agreement here.....

Well after doing a 180mile round trip between yesterday and today, My only real pet peeve has got to be the hvac controls, If that part of the dash was curved out so it was easier to see them, that would be perfect. other than that love mine.
I agree with the terrible design of the HVAC controls on the dash. It is almost like they totally ignored any ergonomic factors for visibility or usability. Most of the time I have to touch the video screen to bring the controls to the screen to be able to see what it is I want to accomplish.

I'll admit to skipping the last 20 pages to get to my peeves.

1, auto start stop. Did the engineers ever drive every single day in towns? Stopping for 1.5 seconds is a thing. Start stopping on a down hill slope for 2 seconds and stop starting delays the pull out from the stop sign. It's so unacceptable and borderline dangerous for my driving habits in that case.

2. Brighter reverse LEDs. Tried to buy super bright LEDs from diode dynamics, but they only fit the old tail light assemblies, so I'm out of luck for a brighter option.

3. sync 3 sm radio alerts are limited to like 15 saves. This is maybe the biggest 1st world problem ever, but I should be able to save 1000 options if I want.

4. I could jump on the bandwagon of having a button to close the mirrors that don't automatically go back when the truck is turned on or not having a tailgate piston, but I'd rather have #3, loll

5. Confusion between terrain management and 4L cruise control. It's probably in the manual, but I can't seem to pick snow/ice and 4L cruise control.

6. Position of rear camera in ford logo. It is always spotted with dirt. If it was up in the handle like other trucks, I bet it would be clean.

I love this truck , BTW! Best vehicle I've ever owned!

Why can't GIA app be on the Sync screen? For that matter, why not other apps...would be fricking great to have DJI GO on there:)

For the CarPlay/AndroidAuto screen, it is my understanding that you have to get some kind of "approval" to get an app to display on the screen. I guess they don't want video players and such available on the Sync screen. I'd love to have my topo map software (Backcountry Navigator) be able to display on my sync screen, but it doesn't sound like that is going to happen.

Sad that Apple Play can't distinguish GIA as a Nav app and not a video playero_O

If I want to watch porn while driving I have my Ipad on a separate mount:) Not that's a good idea:LOL:

. . . My only real pet peeve has got to be the hvac controls . . .
The only thing I change regularly on mine is the temperature. For that, I push the talking head button and say "climate" and then tell it how many degrees I want. Anything else is a simple push on the climate button. The dash buttons are meant to be redundant and I find them OK at doing that. :like:

Had the truck 6months... Pet peeves or just annoyances... My list of 10

1. No brake controller with trailer tow... More money fixes it
2. Chrome package does not include hood protector or rain guards... Cant seem to find chrome rain guards.
3. My knee hits the key as it extends from switch... Decided i had to just use key and not on a key ring for longer trips.
4. The swing out storage box does not install on a factory installed bedliner without either reengineering the bracket or cutting the bedliner.
5. You cant oil change without removing fender liner clips to get to filter.
6. I am more old school... Styling should include ranger letters filled in.
7. Dealer decals that have to scraped off
8. Paint is easy to scratch... See 7.
9. Battery tender seems a good idea... Battery tends to be small capacity in comparison to parasitic loads... Vehicles should be able to sit 3 weeks with a fresh battery.
10. Cant seem to get nag mode to stop with the wife in the passenger seat. Turning lane control off only is good when i am driving alone.

I too have some pet peeves with my Ranger, but I would have still bought my Ranger. Some items that I think should be options or standard equipment for the price point includes:
1) rear climate control
2) electronic rear window controls ( open and close )
3) diode bulbs for the sidemarker and licence plate
4) Sun roof
5) tailgate damper
6) better tires
7) bed lights

But, I found the Ranger to be better than the GM Twins and I cannot stand Toyota's. I do like all of the safety features that are not found in any other competitor ( I do not consider the Ridgeline to be a truck, it is a car in the shape of a truck).

The A/C vent to the right of the instrument cluster is blocked by the steering wheel, and that ridiculous placement of the bloody oil filter. What the hell were they thinking?

Have you actually changed your oil yet? I was concerned about the oil filter placement, but after doing my first oil change, IMO it is a really nice placement and they did an excellent job with it. One of my top 5 easiest to change oil filters I'd say.

I couldn't agree more. Ford did a great job with the Ranger filter location and the tray that directs the oil away from the suspension is great.....

Ridiculous placement..... I remember my wife had a mid 80's Mercury Linx (basically a Ford Escort).

It had a transverse mounted 4 cylinder. The oil filter was between the motor and the firewall. You could barely see the filter. You had to use one of those external clamp strap wrenches to remove it. It then dumped oil down the side of the motor and all over the suspension which then dripped for a week on the floor. Oh... all the sharp metal parts near the filter would cut your hands too.

Now that's ridiculous placement. :headbang:
