When I'm offroading I encounter obstacles that can rub against body panels and if the panels are flimsy tin foil like, the damage will likely be more than just paint. The taillights are also a problem since they are so big there is a greater chance of damaging them when backing or sliding into...
I only have 640 miles on the odometer so far. I am averaging 21 mpg mixed driving. Thats with the stock 285 70 17 bfg ko2s.
2 weeks after I bought my Ranger I put a 3.5 inch lift on and removed the front air dam and after that I was lucky to get 19 mpg. It went down from there after adding...
There is definitely a LOT of wind noise in the jeep. I have the hard top version and I am sure the soft tops are quite noisy as well. The premium stereo package makes up for it though.
I too found that a dashmat helped. Even so, the windshield came so far back toward the roof that the sun was always beating down on the dash and I could not mount my phone or gps or gopro anywhere on the dash without them getting over heated and shutting down.
The Jeep ride is remarkable considering its solid axles. They have done an excellent job tuning the suspension. On road its not as good as the Ranger with Eibachs was but. Its close.
After 2 + years with 2020 my XLT sport 4x4 I somewhat reluctantly traded it off. I spent a fair amount of money attempting to overcome some of its shortcomings.
I used it mostly for "lite" overlanding. Never spent more than a few days in the bush due to work. It did remarkably well off road...

Pulled this link fronm the Bronco forum. It gives some pretty good info on our transmission
Im running a modified RCI rack with their lifted mounting brackets. My tri-fold tonneau will not open with this rack which is kinda good for security reasons. The bed is so short on this truck that I can just drop the tailgate (non dampened) and reach whatever I need. If you have to haul...
AM/FM is not affected. S/XM does work unless I am heading south. All other directions are ok. I normally just use my phone for navigation and music anyhow.
I modified my RCI rack so that the tent (Roof Nest Falcon) just clears the antenna yet, is low enough that I can still squeeze into the garage. There is enough flex that if I hit a big enough bump, I will hear the tent just kiss the shark fin. So far though it has worked out quite well
