I contacted Peragon to find out when their 2019 Ranger bed cover would be ready for primetime. It's not, but they asked if I'd beta test it (ie, buy one before anybody else and find things to bitch about). They're some really well thought out aluminum covers that can be completely removed with ease, plus they're less than half as much money as the Retrax.

I'll follow up when I get my hands on it. By the way, they're looking for someone with a Super Cab to beta.

Ok, so it’s been awhile but I can tell you that the Peragon didn’t fit. I received it and attempted the install, but because of how the gap between the Ranger’s bedwall cap and the bedwall (the plastic and the metal), the clamps they use just pinch themselves off. I had some plastic spacers laying around and stuffed them into the gap, but that only worked in a few places because the inner & outer layers of sheetmetal carry an inconsistent offset along the length of the bed. And Peragon's pressed steel clamps suck: You’re s’posed to bend the mounting tab on the clamp to 2 degrees above horizontal, but I bent mine a bit too far and when I tried to bend it back, it snapped off.

The folks at Peragon were great to work with and answered my emails quickly and didn’t give me any shit when I had to disappear on a business trip for a month in the middle of the install, but in the end I just sent it back.

I started looking at the bed cover on WeatherTech’s website, but they wanted $129 to ship the damn thing. Nope. I saw somewhere on here that the WeaterTech is actually made by Agri-Cover. I went to Agri-Cover and, although it cost $5 more than WeatherTech, shipping was free. I ordered it, receive it last night, and had it installed before dinner. And I’m very happy with it. It’s not as pretty as the Peragon, but it’s sturdy (all aluminum cover, machined aluminum clamps) and install was a snap.

I haven't heard back from Peragon since I returned theirs, and they still don't list the Ranger on their website...

I have been waiting for this cover myself. This is what I was told Monday after following up;

"Thank you for following up. We are working on this, but it will be awhile yet. The new Ranger beds are tricky!"

I had a Paragon on my 08 Ram and while their customer service was great (2 sets of new struts free and fast) I just don’t feel like it was a great cover. It needed to be constantly readjusted or it would come out of the tracks, if you didn’t pull it just perfect it would come out of the tracks and it leaked like crazy. I wasn’t expecting it to be waterproof or anything but I expected better than it was. I’ve looked at their website and it looks like they have improved quite a bit but I’m still not interested in having another.

I was looking at the Paragon cover too, but decided I didn't like the way it "accordion-folds" into the front of the bed - seems like it would bang around while driving down the road. And seeing JD's experience, I'm even more intent on not buying one - better or not. Started looking at the Lomax cover from Agri-Cover and decided that's what I'm buying when my delivery date is closer. Good to hear you're happy with it.

I thought it was the perfect cover for the price so I was waiting for it to release for my Ranger. Then my buddy bought one for his '17 F150 and my mind quickly changed. It's clunky, loud, and leaks like crazy. He also had a hell of a time getting it installed and bending the brackets to their 2 degree recommendation which is just a ghetto request IMO. Overall it does what he needs it to do so he's keeping it but he's not really happy with it and I'm glad I got to see his first so I knew not to get it for mine.

I drove home in a downpour last night (1 hour commute, half highway, half backroads) and I can tell you the Lomax is about 95% watertight. I looked in the bed when I got into the garage and there was just a little bit of water at the front left & right corners. Less than a half a coke can's worth.

Just another incredibly super average dude
I splurged for the Paragon cover and absolutely love it. I can't speak to anyone else's negative experience, but it does everything well. It doesn't flap around when folded back. It super easy to remove from the bed and stow in the back seat, then reinstall. The fit and finish are perf. My only complaint was that it was a bit of a PITA to install when you have to line it up to secure.. Other than that, I personally haven't seen anything else even close to it that I like.
