Thought this was funny enough to share… A while back, our dogs ate the parking brake cover in my ranger. My fault for thinking I could leave them alone for a whole 2 minutes! Lol It’s been torn up for almost a year and it finally bothered me enough to order a replacement online.

Fast forward a week, fedex driver shows up and drops the package over the fence where we keep the dogs. (We have a sign on the front gate of our property that says LEAVE PACKAGES IN CARPORT.) The wife called and said in the 2 minutes it took her to walk outside, there was nothing left but shreds of packaging paper…

Sure enough, I noticed little strips of black leather while picking up dog crap a few days later. I was pretty pissed at fedex but they reimbursed the $75, so I guess all is well. My dogs enjoyed a chew toy for 2 minutes, fedex admitted their driver is an idiot, and I got my money back. Although something tells me that my truck will never have a parking brake cover as long as these dogs are around! 😂

Now that is a story you can't make up. Dogs must like pleather. 😁

Our dogs are monsters! They’ve eaten multiple pairs of my boots, flip flops, the wife’s shoes, one of her purses, her wallet… The older shepherd we have never chewed on anything until we brought home the new puppy. He’s teaching her bad habits lol!

What’s funny is when we give them toys, they’ll go put them in their dog houses and not touch them after that. If we leave something unattended, it’s almost guaranteed they’ll destroy it in a matter of minutes. We love our dogs but they’re a pain in the ass sometimes!!!

You are honestly much better off getting the Redline replacement boot.

My truck went through 2 of the cracking pleather boots under warranty before I finally got the Redline.

The Redline has been on for several years now and still looks as new as the day I installed it.

If you decide to get one, it is very easy to find a discount code for them online.

That’s the exact one I ordered. Well, tried to anyway… lol Didn’t see any discount codes though. I had it saved in my Amazon cart for a while before buying it.

The dog thing is crazy but the part about this story I can't believe is FedEx admitting fault and reimbursing you. What bizarro dimension have you entered!?
They didn’t at first. They tried to say it was Amazon’s fault because that’s who I bought it from. Then gave me some story about it being bought through Amazon from a third party seller. Pretty much every excuse to dodge accountability…

After going in circles, I finally talked with a manager. He tried to blame Amazon too lol! I got a little snappy with him and made it very clear it’s not Amazon’s fault that YOUR delivery driver can’t read signs and lacks common sense. I told him that we’ve had hundreds of packages delivered to our house over the years and not once has anyone ever thrown something over the fence where the dogs are.

Sometimes you gotta be pushy to get what you want. I hate being “that guy” with people but I wasn’t about to eat $75 because FedEx screwed up. Not only that but one of my biggest pet peeves is people not using common sense. I will absolutely call someone out for being an idiot and hold them accountable for it 😂
