I hike, all four seasons. Last September, carrying sections of a flag up to Mt Carrigain to raise for the Flags on the 48 event in memory of the 9/11 attack, my GF and I completed the AMC NH 48.

I also Volunteer at Maine Huts and Trails. The volunteer cooridinator is also the founder of the Stanley Steamer Museum in Kingfield ME. Here, she's firing up on the museums steam cars at a volunteer thank you potluck.

This is a section of the Applalachian trail that co-incides with the Grafton Notch Loop Trail. I maintain a section of the GNLT, but its an 8 mile hike to get to my adopted section. I try to make a couple trips a year.

Overlooking Pinkham Notch towards the Presidential Range from Imp Face In June last year. More than a few people have died in those mountains because they've underestimated the weather extremes. Mt Washington is one of the deadliest mountains in the country and had the highest recorded land wind speeds of 231 miles per hour.

VERY cool! Looks very similar to the country I hike in, except I'm on the other side of the continent. :) Beautiful photos.

Is Mt Washington where that guy died a year or two ago? I forgot his name, but I read his story - he hiked the mountain hundreds of times in a variety of weather - his goal was to hike it 1000 times. He went up on a poor weather day and it got really bad, really fast and he wasn't able to make it down - they found his body a couple days later after the weather cleared. Mt Washington rings a bell....

Many people have died on it every year. Some have committed suicide by sitting down and letting nature take its course. Mt Everest climbing hopefuls go there to train in harsh Winter conditions. I can't recall anyone with a goal to hike it 1000 times and dying.

I know that car is sweet! It's a 2017 Ford GT. I forgot I had taken a picture of the window tag. I would've loved to see what it was going for but it wasn't up while we were there.

On vacation this week. Thought we would check out several of Alabama's waterfalls.
Learned something. Due to age, body habitus, & near death experience, don't believe rock climbing is a hobby I should persue.:frown::crackup:
