Hi Folks,
In the shop to relieve some Covid 19 boredom. Margie had an idea for a tiny picture frame made of metal for a tiny painting she was thinking about painting, of an agave... So I cut and welded this little 6" square.... She gave up on the idea so this thing has been sitting on the welding table for quite a few months... I decided to "play with some ideas" of a piece of yard art. Margie got into the project too adding some to the design of pieces of scrap metal. Then to give it a bit of color, I fitted a Front End Accessory Drive belt tensioner bolt/washer that we ended up painting turquoise. I then decided to blue the metal by heating the whole assembly less the painted bolt/washer in the oven at 475° F for an hour and then quenching in a tub of water, which locks in the blued metal. Fabbed up a base and Volia!....Yard art....
