I've heard this argument before, and especially when insurance was looking at totaling my vehicle. The idea that a vehicle has no loss of value that has structural frame damage and is then repaired by bending the frame back in place, or even cutting the frame and welding portions back on, is laughable. The vehicle didn't come like that from the factory, because it would obviously be inferior to a non-bent/re-straightened frame. Why then would the vehicle have the exact same value after having the frame tampered with? The frame can VERY EASILY be pulled back into shape, just have the work done by a quality shop. Auto repair is a science now, and there is no reason a properly repaired vehicle should ever be considered less valuable.
If two identical vehicles are for sale, except one has a structural damage-flagged title, and the frame has been bent and then straightened...do you really consider that they'd still be sold for the exact same amount?
