I haven't enjoyed a thread that much in a long time. No way a wet plug hole killed that engine. If all he was told was water intrusion, he jumped to conclusions.

I understood that dude's frustration with a blown engine.
but as I've said before, there's no reason to take an out of warranty vehicle back to a dealership for repairs. Most of them will do the easiest, most profitable repair. In his case, install a new $15000 engine.
A secondary shop would have offered a rebuilt long block install for less than half the price, or a used engine for a 1/4. But OP didn't want to hear any of that.
