Have lousy knees...arthritis...came up with a "Get into bed of Ranger with bad knees" modification.
$41 bucks and I don't have to do a "rolling crawl" to get into the bed.
Helps wife also...she's a bit "vertically challenged"
Little bungee keeps it from sliding around.

RETIRED!!!!
My last new truck was a full size extended cab 4wd back in 2000. Sold it a couple years later to get an SUV. Pretty sure the tailgate on my Ranger is as high as my last truck.

I was used to my little 2009 Ranger, 2 wd. Stock height, and was no problem with it.
Love the 2021, but bed seems like its twice as high...like climbing a small mountain to get into bed !
With a travel trailer in the not too distant future, storing tow equipment on a daily basis was a worry, crawling into and out of the bed.

I was considering the Bestop but was unsure if it was useable with tailgate down....
Is it ?

Seems like a good solution to a problem. Not sure why those people thought it was so hilarious.
If it works, it ain't stupid.

What got me was when she tossed the step stool back out to the ground landing with a solid thunk..

They obviously have never had to deal with bad knees, bad hips, bad shoulder injuries where you need some assistance.

Yep. The platform can be slid side to side when installing to your liking. In the down position is folds down a little to the left and then you can slid the platform out further if you want and clamp in that position. Easy step up to the bumper and then in the bed. Touch it with your toe and it folds up easily and quickly. It's nice, but runs around $275.

Thanks for the info. Cost is not a problem if it works solving a problem.
I'll try my little step ladder for awhile, will go to Bestop if needed. :like:

Copy. Be advised that while it's not difficult it would be easier to install on a lift. You have to be a bit of a contortionist laying on your back to maneuver around to bolt it up.

Oh, and speaking of bad knees, I added a bedrug matt and it provides good padding for your knees in the bed. Mine if the model that extends out over the gate. It works with spray in liner.
