I popped in my local Home Derpot to grab a couple duplicates of a certain size socket. All of mine had slowly disappeared to the same place I assume that socks go to. Shelves were lined with the various sizes, but this particular size, both standard, deep well, and every variation known to man were sold out. In a sea of shining metal, these empty spots stuck out like Lena Dunham at a supermodel contest.

Nope, all gone. Found some at Lowes a week later. Check Lowes. Their loose Craftsman sockets are contained in a drawer so as to hinder escape.

If not for the nature of sockets and how you use them I would jbweld something like apple airtags to the side of all of mine...

In the meantime, just take the 27/64ths (11mm) socket that you never use and line it with two plies of aluminum foil. 12 pt sockets are a royal pain, though.

9/16 has always been my disappearing socket size. I think my Dad pays me back every time he visits and takes them as revenge for all of the ones I lost fixing my bikes when I was a kid.
