Ohh, I'm guilty of asshat driving as well.turn off sport trac-or whatever it's called- by holding down the slip control buton for 5 seconds and the light flashes on on the dash. I can drift no problem but I drive like an ass sometimes.
However, disabling AnvanceTrac with the long button push will NOT disable Roll Stability control. And RSC WILL shut down the fun at a roughly 30° of angle. If it's not kicking on for you, you simply aren't sideways enough.
According to the manual Sand Mode is the only way to disable RSC. I've yet to confirm, I'm waiting for the proper tractionless surface because Sand Mode is 4wd only.
That being said, it's possible the videos were shot in Sand Mode. All the "road" surfaces were suitable for 4wd.
But dry pavement drifting of a Ranger is damn near impossible. She'll let you hang it out, but not too far. As soon as the system detects enough angle the brakes will engage and loer will be pulled until gou're straight again.
