Took you guys advice and purchased a desulphator and installed it immediately after a 30 mile drive. Voltage on the desulphator display was 12.4V. 2 hrs. later the indicated voltage actually went up to 12.7V so it must be doing something. Note that I did not connect a battery charger at that time. Was just curious what would happen with just the desulphator installed. So, I intend to repeat this operation multiple times in the future and see what happens.

It doesn't start working until the charge voltage is ~13.5V.

My issues with being in battery save mode and no remote features, vanished when I parked the F250, and actually started DRIVING IT EVERY DAY.

If you took a voltage reading right after shutting it down, or right after closing a door, the computer is drawing a load from the battery, and the voltage will be slightly lower. After the computer goes to sleep, the voltage will rise somewhat.
