It's like $50 a year for the license but looking at your rig, I don't think that'll hurt you any lmao.
Worst case scenario just revert it back. I disabled the horn honk when locking and other misc items.

The disabling of the shift strategy made my truck much better to deal with in heavy traffic, although as a whole it accelerates a little slower cause it's not skipping many gears anymore. No big deal for me, not like I can enjoy going 50mph for more than 10 seconds anyway...
Yeah, she has a lot of upgrades :)
I might hit 50 on the freeway...on a weekend...at 9 AM lol. Portland traffic is horrendous.

I gave up trying to figure out what this stupid ass transmissions programming is doing so.. Either I'll make it past 100k or it'll blow up before. I dunno, lol.
I've started to take this approach. Sometimes it shifts a little hard sometimes it's smooth. Dealership states everything is normal. So I think it's just crap transmission that is doing what it does.

where I am at in Illinois not much better. Soon as they hit the speed limit(40mph) we're at the next red light.

Talked with a buddy of mine who used to work for Ford. They call the transmissions the slop box. I'm starting to see why. My '94 E-150 van was the same way.

haha, I know, right? Yet another "my trans is being weird" thread. Stay for the entertainment, friend!
I wish you well...hopefully, my experience is a rare event...but stay aware and best of luck!

thatdarnranger - A little off topic here, with all the mods it looks like you made, could you post some picts of your Ranger?

thanks

Are you experiencing a flare in rpm as it shifts? Possibly only cold? Or it could be almost a bog as it shifts followed by rapid acceleration.
I just bought a 2019 Ranger XLX FX4 and when startout in the morning my truck surges as I'm driving the first mile of so. Sometimes downshifting in the first 1/2 mile driving it shifts hard. Is this usual? This is my first Ford in 30 years.

Some of the surging feeling is part of oar, it’s testing the octane level to figure out the ignition timing strategy it follows. The transmission is notoriously jerky when cold yes but sometimes that’s also a symptom of failure.

Mine does similar issues, all I can think of is the traction control being way too over active.

I myself turned off the adaptive learning process so the truck tends to use most if not all gears. (1,2,4,5,6,,8,9,10 is the usual pattern) and will hesitate when trying to make a turn from a stop/very low rate of speed.

Every morning I get in mine to leave for work and I have to make a slow, tight turn out of my alleyway as soon as I head out. The traction control warning lights up on the dash nearly every single time as I’m making the turn (more often when it’s cold out) I’m very curious to know more about this and if anyone else experience sit as well

In normal drive mode, the truck skips from 1st to 3rd by design. How long have you owned the truck and is what you are describing new behavior?
Exactly, that's what mine does and it's normal.

I've only had the warning pop up when i spin a little when my driveway was icy or around a turn whilst accelerating little too hard.

what’s concerning for me is that the road conditions are completely fine and normal, just a tight turning radius at a slow speed…can’t figure that part out

If you hold the button for 5-10 seconds you can disable the advance trac system. Do that and see if the icon flashes again when you make the turn.

The icon will remain lit while the traction control or advance track is disabled.

No idea what it could be though.
